Thanks for posting these Oliver. I sure do miss Julius. I didn't know him that long (a few years), but he was one of the most interesting people I ever met. He didn't say much... until he did. Once he got going though, ya just had to wait it out. hehe Sometimes he would pause for a long time and I wasn't quite sure if he was done talking, or just working out how to word what he wanted to say. We talked about everything from space-time and 'arm-chair physics' to the history of jazz. He told me he thought there was a strong connection with math, physics, the universe, and music that he admitted he didn't understand fully, but he sure felt it deep. (I totally agree with him). I will never forget, during our last conversation, I had said, " 'It is what it is', is just another way of saying 'It ain't what it should be.' ", and after a short pause and a long draw on his brown cigarette, he said, "You know, you alright... for a white dude.". R.I.P. Julius. "Blow on, man.. Blow on".
