I watch every Ann Dowd interview and I haven't even seen some of her shows. She is so thoughtful and a great actress.

How much of an honor is that to hear the writer say they wrote Aunt Lydia with your acting in mind?!

Ann Dowd is phenomenal. Margaret Atwood is brilliant. Elisabeth Moss is just luminous. I love this challenging show.

I highly recommend the Testaments Audible version! Margaret Atwood introduces the chapters (or sections, I don't remember) and Ann Dowd plays Aunt Lydia as well as Bryce Dallas Howard playing another character (I won't say who). I highly recommend listening to it.

It was absolutely wonderful. I binge listened to that one. I loved hearing "aunt Lydia" through Atwood's words, and automatically picturing Ann Dowd. It really helped make the book so much more real to me. Sometimes you just feel a performance, and that was one of them.

It's just sublime having the very Mrs Atwood as an interviewer... and the highly cultivated Ann Dowd talking about her craft.... SAG-AFTRA, thank you so much for this gift.. by the way, Mrs. Atwood seems very please to talk with Mrs Dowd. I mean, usually when the interview is about her, and her book alone, she seems a little uncomfortable. And here she seems quite happy :D

Ann Dowd should run acting classes as her approach to characters is far better than method acting

Margaret Atwood, thank you for your creation. May it be an ever-present warming-a special gift art can give humanity. Ann Dowd, so great to hear your thoughts and approach to your work. As a master teacher of Michael Chekhov's acting technique - your thoughts seem to align--No judging but rather we must fall in love with some aspect of our multidimensional character in order to bring it to life. Chekhov suggests our characters exist independently and so perhaps before Ms Atwood crafted Aunt Lydia, in some mysterious way Aunt Lydia prompted you all into bringing your expression of her to us now. From a Michael Chekhov technique lens, you, Ann as the actor, allow Aunt Lydia's Imaginary Body to envelop you and inspire you which can happen in an instant, with a thought, gesture or a breath. What we as an audience experience is the merging of the inspirations of the creative individuality of the artists--the actor, writers, director, partners and mise en scene/the set/atmosphere/costumes, etc. At the end of our 16 hour days, we can peal off our characters and send them back to that unlimited sphere of imagination "cloud" and "download" them the next day or after lunch. And YES -- Thank you for saying acting is not pain--don't be the one who suffers the most. No more suffering artists. Acting is PLAY. Julian of Norwich-great to learn. Visions like Hildegard of Bingham. My lasting 5th grade nun-lesson: "Self discipline will determine your path in life." Thanks Ann, for honoring your stunt players-too often my 10 years of work in that area went uncredited and hidden. Grateful to you both for sharing with such candor.

For the longest time I thought Anne must have british because her American accent on the show sounded like a brit putting on American accent. She still doesn't sound totally American to me here haha
