I guess I need to find an old enlarger. Thanks for the video.

Thank you so much for this video, awhile back I saw an omega B-600 Enlarger at a thrift store for $15 but thought I couldn’t convert it into a copy stand without difficult work. And later that very day your video popped up with a very similar looking one. I ran out the next day and snatched it up

Did you end up building it out?

@@darkroomsyndicate I did! Still trying to find a good lens to use though. I have a GH5, and I’ve yet to find an affordable prime lens that will help me fill the frame of the sensor

Thanks. I enjoyed the video. I'm going to make something a bit different, but I like this concept a lot.

I know this video was posted a while ago but for levelling the camera in the stand I put a mirror on my light source. You can zero in the camera so it's perfectly even with the copy stand base using the mirror.

That's a good tip. I'm going to try that. Every little bit helps.

There was an Omega B-3 in a closet at my church. Somebody threw it away... without even asking anyone about it.

Excellent video. I just got an Omega Pro-Lab B66 that I'm going to try and convert as well.

Did you have any luck? I just picked up the same enlarger today!

@@supermariobrosfan92 Yes! It's actually so much easier than I thought it would be. Look up the "Copy Camera Adapter" for the B66. It's a plate that fits over the mechanism that holds the bellows. You simply take off the light box, install the Copy Camera Adapter and get a T-Mount adapter to the mount of whichever digital camera you have. I'm using the EL-Omega 50mm f3.5 lens that came with the enlarger, but you can use any enlarging lens you want!

While Omega made many fine enlargers, this piece of tin trash sure wasn't one of them. Its most glaring problem is that the support column is weak and unstable. Watch it wobble. Of course, many of the (relatively) cheap copy stands are just a bad. Getting it for free might be an incentive to do this "conversion", but in the end, it's still a piece of unstable crap at best.

Yeah, ideally the support column would be extruded aluminum and the camera would slide on sealed bearings which would be nice. But free is free and I couldn't turn down the opportunity to do something with it.
