Anyone who's serious about writing a screenplay I would recommend reading these 3 books before you start. Syd Field: SCREENPLAY Blake Snyder: SAVE THE CAT Robert Mckee: STORY Good luck and keep writing!

+Brade Bronson Could you be more specific on the Blake Snyder's book "Save the Cat"? When I looked it up I seen that he has atleast 3 different books with the same title but different subtitles. Which one are you suggesting or are you suggesting them all? I'm asking because I'm taking your advice and adding it to my Goodreads account. Thank you!

So satisfying to see someone who actually does short films talk about screenwriting for 11 minutes!! Not that there is anything wrong with doing vlogs or makeup videos, but this lesson actually applies to me and I think a lot of people on this channel have been waiting for something like this. It's also nice to have some affirmation from someone outside of film school who has the same views on screenwriting!

At first, I was superficial (human), and couldn't stop thinking, "Wow, she is beautiful!" But the more I listened to her, the more impressed I was with her actual mind. Then I went to IMDB and saw that she has written, directed, and acted in many short films. You are nothing short of awesome, Anna Akana. Now, if only I could take her advice, and get past the fear aspect of writing.

Wow, this helped me so much. I love comedy and improv. I’ve even taken improv classes which were the funnest thing I have ever done. But even with that, some frame or outline is helpful. Having a script for even ‘off the cuff’ sort of videos can really help keep focus. It’s nice to go off script and have ‘unscripted moments’, particularly in comedy. But without a good base script, you have no where to turn when things go wrong.

Awesome, as always KZitem Creator Academy. This was so helpful. I love Anna Akana, she knows what the hell she's talking about. I get stuck while writing my script SO often and just like she suggested, I've started to just expand of small ideas and it TOTALLY works. The rest just comes once you get started

Really helped give me motivation to write stories! My biggest problem is getting started, like the start I would go confused when i wrote like 4 lines, then slowly go with the flow and make it a really long but interesting story. rlly gave me some confidence to write a script just for fun :D

Thank you for this! Huge admirer of Anna, she’s such an incredible talent. I worked on a pilot script for a mystery drama webseries for about 4 years and finally turned it into a reality, posting it as #DeathRowSeries here on youtube and insta. It’s my bb and I found myself REALMING the universe of the script before even starting production and it helps *so much*. :) If anyones interested in the series, we’re one episode away from the season finale. It’s a 10 ep show thats between 7-10mins in length. Short and sweet. ;)

I am a fumbling idiot compared to all bright people I see doing these great tutorials. They convey all the personally attributes of the high school clicks I remember in school. Nothing wrong with that. But, no way can I ever compete on their level. So my strategy is to out dumb them. And that will be easy for me. People who are fumbling like me, may appreciate someone doing a how-to-series that they can realistically relate too. There has to be more fumblers, like me, then bright tutorial stars. If I can show them that, hey! I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed either, this is how I fumble. And, I'm cursed with the obsession to do this. And it's not unheard of to fumble into success. Without mentioning my series name, or even asking you to watch, can you get the drift by my photo to the left. I'm going to keep fumbling along. And I encourage all the class clowns out there to not give up. Put a video on youtube. Don't compare yourself to the slick productions. You can always delete the thang and do better the next time. Just fumble on. You'll get better. And you damn sure won't be the worse!
@TerryMcGearyScotland
7 жыл бұрын
Long live the fumblers like you and me! :) But seriously sometimes it's all really an act, acting from a script either memorised or stuck on bits of paper around the camera. I speak very little direct to camera (I am really quite shy) and even then I have edited out several takes very I dry up or mess up my talk. My errors are sometimes 'made good' by text overlays correcting myself for the sake of accuracy. I am a beginner and find the process of taking and production so much fun! Just enjoy it and who cares if people watch it or not.:) (although at present I am still hooked on looking at the stat's to see who and where people are watching from!) Have a good time producing!

Book writing is also like script writing i guess. First, we need a clear idea of what we are going to write. Then, need to draft the entire script. Only, then we find a producer to make the movie. Let's finish drafting, then we can think about publishing.
