We can't thank you enough for your great advice on both product and procedure! We just converted our fluorescent porch light to LED. It took about an hour and 40 minutes of that was removing and reinstalling the cover over the wiring. We have just launched into full-time RVing and could not be doing it without all the help from you. Thank you!

Being new to Rving I have quickly come to cherish your informational videos. I just finished upgrading my older RV (03 Winn Adventurer) with M4 LED Products. It was fairly easy, but I had slightly different wiring to deal with. Fortunately my neighbor RVer is an electrician and came to my aid. We had them all changed out in 30 minutes and they look fantastic. Thanks for the video on the colors available. I was able to choose the right colors for the areas. Love you guys!!!!

If there's a switch on the fixture (like in this video) it's pretty easy to determine the ground from the power. The power is the wire going from the ballast to the switch, the ground is the one going from the ballast leaving the fixture. M4 products rock!

Another very helpful video! Made this switch so quick and easy, the directions were for an 18" light not the 12" so I just watched as I installed and all works perfect. My ballast was out so just went on and changed the bathroom light over to LED and will do more as needed. Thanks and thanks for the 5% discount from M4.

I know this is old video... Hopefully still a good way to go as I just ordered 10 12" bulbs to convert 5 of my 12" units and your code still worked

Great tutorial as usual. There is more to that upgrade that I had thought. Steve at M4 has been great to work with, so I second your recommendation.

I followed your previous recommendation and installed the LED strips...they seem to be working fine...what was your rationale in changing your approach for the rest of the lites in your coach

Hi Ronald! Our LED strips are working okay too, and are a perfectly fine (and less expensive) way to do the conversion. But we were having trouble finding LEDs for our incandescent and halogen bulbs. We were unhappy with the color, brightness and/or quality of everything we tried. We bought some bulbs from M4 to replace some of our incandescent bulbs and they were really good. Since we were on our way past M4's shop, we decided to visit in person to see first-hand what else they had available. We got a lot of great information, learning a lot about what makes LED bulbs work well, and how to tell really high-quality from cheap ones. We were particularly blown away by the cutaway of the 18" tubes. They were so elegant and beautifully made that we wanted to try them, even though they were more expensive. We like to try both economical and high-end things out, and share both in videos. We just love the new tubes (it was easier to get the brightness and color matched to the previous tubes that the strip lights were), and wanted to show this an option for anyone who wants the best and is willing to spend more for it. Don't worry.... your strip lights are still a great value, and some of our fixtures are still the strip lights, since we weren't about to re-do them just because we found some fancier bulbs! lol - Peter

Hello and happy holidays gents! LED questions please: i'd like to add the LED light strips to the inside for ambiance, do I a) just wire them into the light switches that are already there? b) add them to the existing or disconnect the existing (I don't want to overpower the power system) or is there another route I'm supposed to take? thanks

Hi Shelley! Long time! The only LED upgrades we've done are the direct replacement of existing fixtures. We think there should be no problem adding in 12-volt LED strips to existing 12-volt wiring, but even though they draw very little power, you're right about being mindful of drawing too much juice and blowing a fuse. We'd suggest that this is a good question for the iRV2 forums, where you might find people with first hand experience doing it.

easy peasy! Might look him up for replacing those cheap made in china LED's I got for replacing the push in glass bulb style lights. I'm having rows of led's flicker and burn out already. only been a year!

Nice instructional! Have you considered installing dimmers on these new LED's? I know with fluorescent lights dimmers are not possible, it would be nice to set the lighting mood more effectively. Thanks for all you vids, I watch all of them.

They do indeed make dimmers for LEDs, but since our (former) fluorescent fixtures are used for bright work light (we have lots of other choices when less light is needed) we didn't bother installing them. Great idea though. We have one dimmer that we're trying to figure out where to put! ;-)
