That's a nice little conveyor trainer. I think conveyance is a MUST for process control training/programming. Especially with line tracking. Thank you for your services in our industry.

Could you explain AFI vs NOP?
@TimWilborne

Hi Joel, I'll put that down for one of our Q&A sessions but the quick answer is... An AFI is an "Always False Input" which means no matter the conditions, it will be evaluated as false. So to put it into perspective, if it is an Examine On instruction then the tag is always a "0" or if it is an Example Off, then the tag will always be a "1". A NOP has no operation. It affects the program in no way an acts as a place marker. It can put put in an input position or an output position.

I was trying out a new Virtualbox image for some upcoming training. It's easier to create new images lots of times than adding and removing programs to existing ones. Plus if I mess up I can just hit the delete key 🤪.

Wouldn't using a first pass bit to unlatch be a workaround to that issue?

I wouldn't call it an issue as much as something to understand how works. In this video we talk about using the first pass to prevent OTL/OTU setups from starting back up on power up. twcontrols.com/lessons/differences-in-the-ote-vs-otlotu-during-power-up-of-a-controllogixcompactlogix-plc
