Hello dear sketchers,
I love all types of seafood and shellfish and where I live in south Co. Galway there's an abundance of fresh, wild seafood lying just off the shore in the clean cold waters of the Atlantic. (I join them from June onwards!) There's a family-run company that harvests mussels, clams and oysters from the shore, which is about two miles from my home, and it's a lovely walk to get to their place about a mile away and buy my shellfish for supper.
This day I was really in the mood for mussels in wine and garlic, but I was a bit tight for time so I drove down (it only takes fifteen minutes to walk) and on the way back I met this pheasant. They are so pretty! It wasn't hugely bothered by my presence but neither did it let me get too close. Soon, I will share with you all the species of cool wild animals that live around me...
I used two techniques for this sketch and I think it worked really well. You can see how I did it by becoming a member of my group and joining my classes! If you go to "Membership" and use the code LOVEYOU before February 14th then you will get a whole month of Saturday classes for free...there's no catch at all.

It's my job to make you enjoy being a member so much that you'll want to stay on - and if you do, it will cost you the grand sum of €14.95 (that's about $15.95 or thereabouts) for four live and recorded classes each week, on Saturdays at 3.00pm UTC, which is 10am EST. If you REALLY want more classes you can take out the Deluxe membership for €24.95 per week (that gets you a class on Tuesday too, and access to the entire archive) but those prices won't stay at that rate. I will keep the prices at this rate for a while but not indefinitely because they really are crazy low!
Either way, enjoy the video...and the mussels, if you like seafood!
Love,
Róisín
Oh the music is called Down The River Of Hearts by Eyal Talmudi. It is used under license through Splice, which allows me to use samples of music for my videos as part of my subscritpion fee to Splice. Sometimes KZitem is a bit behind and their little machine that checks for copyright infringements doesn't know the deal with Splice, and tells me the video can't be monetised through ad revenue. This is incorrect but to get around it I have to generate a PDF of a certificate stating that I am entitled to use the music, that it's all above board, and send it to KZitem. Not only is this very annoying and tedious for me, but I can't figure out how to do it. If you know how to do it please share your expertise with me! Meanwhile don't be surprised if the video disappears while I take off the offending few seconds of music...
