I was meant to find you and your channel this year! My Papa always grew Asian vegetables in his garden every summer and he was an amazing cook when it came to Filipino dishes. Sadly he passed away a couple of weeks ago. I promised to continue his vegetable garden. As I am watching this video, I’m sure he is watching over me and watching this video too 😊 Ask Menchie to teach you the “Bahay Kubo” cute kids song - it’s a sweet little song and it mentions different vegetables in Tagalog 💕

I love seeing your neighbor teaching and sharing her culture with you. I wish i had a neighbor like that. Mines don't even talk to me at all. Also wanted to share that i had tyroid since i was 14 years old. i did the radiation when i was 21, and it's a roller-coaster. Keep your loved ones closer and stay emotially strong. I remember i would cry out of nothing, and energy wise, I was wiped out of all the time. Im 42 now, and still my meds go up and down depending on how life goes. Stay 💪 ❤

No bittermelon? I've never tried to eat pinakbet because my husband always makes it with bittermelon. I hate bittermelon. Another good Filipino dish to make with summer garden veggies is Ginataang Kalabasa at Sitaw, which translates to winter squash and long beans cooked in coconut milk. You can make it with either shrimp or pork.

My cousin's husband is Filipino and they make lumpia, pancit, adobo, and more for all the graduations and weddings in their family. Tasty! They just leave out most of the spicy bits for our WHYTE family 😅 He also did a whole beautiful garb for being a prince in the SCA. Precolonial Filipino, I think it's Visayan?
