When your finished with this series, you should make your own 18th century cookbook with episodes as a reference and you should contact some people in the prep community.

The first reference to dough nuts based on the William Ellis 1750 recipe for " Hertfordshire cakes , nuts etc was " Dow Nuts " also in Hertfordshire England was a transcribed recipe for the Dowager Elizabeth in 1800 . The recipe for deep fried Hertfordshire cakes or dough nuts is available online and is excellent . For "Jamaican spice ", use allspice or a combination of allspice, cumin , nutmeg and cinnamon.

Not a problem with washed eggs in EU. We keep the protective coating on them.

I’m so tired I swore I heard Jon say bury your ex in salt. I wasn’t looking at the screen, just listening. Nap time for sure.

Jon, your two posset episodes were the same footage... look around 1:56 and about 7 minutes later! Maybe stick the right one in as an extra?

Too many cooking videos nowadays imo. I have followed Townsends for years and greatly enjoyed their content even financially supporting them when I could afford to do so BUT i've been thinking for a while now that there are just too many cooking videos. What happened to making tools, blacksmithing, building cabins and smokehouses, building a forge, building an earthen oven, making nails, etc? Those are the videos that i really enjoyed not the 10th video of you cooking a roast or something.
