My family swears they hate liver, but frying it like that, chicken fried steak style, just might make them change their minds. I love that you are cooking in a cast iron skillet too, just like my great grandma used to do. Everyone loved her cooking. She put a little bacon grease and a lot of love into it all her finger-licking southern dishes. 💕 🥰 Thank you for sharing your recipe and explaining everything so well. I grew up on calf liver and still love it. I am a spice girl but I agree keep the seasoning simple. Looks delicious.

Looks moist, tender, and delicious. Only thing I would add is sliced mushrooms to round out the flavor... well, maybe bacon too. :) I like the idea of rolling liver in flour first.

I love chicken livers dude Popeyes used to have them and gizzards some yrs back. Yeah give the beef liver a try I like to cook a few jarred in brine pepperoncini peppers slices and cooked in the last few min.

Extremely healthy!! Remove the membrane (keeps it tender) & sautéed w/no oils (keeps it healthy) & choice of onions peppers veggies etc . Quick delicious and healthy!!!

No need for less oil. Just switch to a healthy oil. Avocado, coconut or olive oil.

Quick tip.....plastic bag,size to suit. Seasoned flour ,place liver nto bag then shake. ..remove liver roll up bag and bin. Little or no mess!

If you pour the water slowly, you can better control the consistency of the gravy.I prefer my gravy thicker.

I grew up in New York and when I was a young kid my mom always cooked liver with onions it was always good but I've never had it with gravy that's an interesting part so I will give that a try

I’m gonna make me some. But take twice the onion and remove all but half and make my gravy using beef broth. Once it gets to the consistency I want pour into blender and purée the gravy with the onions make a richer gravy. Then set the liver and the rest of the onions back in to thicken even more. That’s me though. Never liked liver before but gonna try one more time.

I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and I went into the cafeteria. The sign said liver & onions and when I asked if they had them the answer was no! I really wish they did. Your recipe looks great..that's how I would make mine!
