Great job good to see a mechanical inclined person use tool expertly, yes oak or other hard wood would work as well and be lighter, hang to a wall should be in a stud, cinder block or concrete to secure it, also height from ground depends on who will use it and what's to be hung, the fold up feature is the best part. Thank you

@@firstnamelastname1101 I believe the base plates should have been made of sheet metal at least 3 inches thick. This is a dryer, and not some kind of nonsense! And with the size it was necessary to make a margin, 10 inches by 10 minimum! The tubes are too small ... You should take at least 4 inches. Well, of course, not a nylon rope, but something masculine - at least steel. At least half an inch. And the design is rather weak for a dryer ...

I'm not saying that's not a good thing to have around the house, but unless you're using those to hang huge chunks of cow meat, or have those metal scraps just lying around, I'm not sure building those things out of 4mm tubing or 8mm plates like you used are justified.

Pretty good. Factory made products similar to this retail for around 130 American dollars and up in my country and with the current conversion rate is insanely expensive. They are made with weak flimsy plastic/nylon folding mechanism that will fail within two years outdoors. The product in the video is designed for outdoor use and and can easily support the weight of wet curtains, wet sleeping bags, blankets, duvets, denim clothing, winter coats, jackets etc. People who think this design is overkill probably have never had to wash and carry and hang large wet fabric materials out to dry in the yard. The weight of large wet fabric items such as quilted sleeping bags, blankets and curtains is enormous when suspended. With the exception of the cord, this product will last for many many years provided it is properly primed and painted. The mounting screws used in the video are not good and thunder bolts (bolts designed to self tap threads into concrete) with at least 5mm diameter shank should be used to mount the unit onto a concrete wall. I would also prefer that the arms fold downward when not in use.

Just a tip regarding your threaded holes... Countersink those holes BEFORE you tap them. It happens quite frequently that the start of the thread is damaged when countersinking afterwards. Added benefit is it makes it easier for the tap to engage. Countersinking should also - ideally - have the same diameter as the thread...unless of course it's for a countersunk screw.
