i agree. More so if you want to have it like behind the TV or in a hard to get to but out of the way cabinet. Really for a home theater PC right now i would go with a x86 NAS and Raspberry Pi 2B or 3B controller board with that add-on for power on / power off. More expensive than that add-on would be but the NAS can be upgraded to have more storage. I think 180TB is the current max on most Prosumer NASes until you get into bigger than you should have due to drive fails hard drive sizes. That is enough room for a few 8k full length 4 hour long movies with all the extras too. So i would suggest 1080p so you could have like 200x the amount.

Never even bothered to look for a brand name version. Thanks for that! People who for example put their computer on the wall or something like that out of reach would hugely benefit from the remote power/reset I imagine. Sounds like someone has very long speaker cables and never uses any thumbdrives. But there are even wired soilutions. Just replace the power buttion with one on a longer cable. They don't need to be thicker than telephone wire. And I'd suggest getting a new case/fans/cooler on the way if the rig is that loud. Tose 90° adapters also help getting the cables to the front quickly, most boards got them straight out, and those angled ones would be nice. Now we only need SATA plugs with rotation in every direction.

I investigated the wireless start/restart for my computer that runs 24/7 but (very) occasionally freezes. After looking at the options I settled on an Amazon Smart Plug. Now if it freezes you can just say 'Alexa turn off pc' then back on (or set up IFTTT to allow for 'restart'). You can also use the app to start it if you're away but need to access it and critically allows you to just not have it running 24/7 if you don't want to. Set Windows scheduler to shut down at 2 AM and set the plug to turn on at 8 AM by enabling 'power on at power restore' in your BIOS. No fob to have to keep track of, you can use your voice or the app, and you can schedule it. I tried previously to use WoL but found that it was extremely inconsistent.

An alternative to the remote power controls are smartplugs, but the main reason I use it is because they can also measure the power usage. Smart plugs & bulbs are great, can also use them with fans, to actually turn off a firestick (highjacks my Bluetooth headphones), plus other appliances. Most don't realise a regular wireless Xbox controller basically turns your PC into an Xbox. Velcro is also great; adhesive and non-adhesive strips used both inside and outside the PC.

I used the NZXT internal USB hub thing, it's a life saver for people with AIO water coolers and led lights (like the corsair ones). I can't remember how I found it, but I'm glad I did. My only complaint is the cable going to the motherboard is kind of thick and not very bendy. Also though it's not specifically a computer accessory I like those small wooden desktop tables for setting my PC & monitors on to create a bit of extra desktop space. They're less than $20 and are solid enough to support my Phanteks evolv case on top of with no fear of it breaking or falling down and I can slide my laptop under it when it's not in use.

Quick note about the Phanteks Halos. The "Lux" in the name means aluminum body vs the plastic. But not both the "Lux" and plastic come in RGB and digital RGB. You want to get the digital RGB if you have a motherboard that supports it as it is addressable. In other words the non-digital RGB will just light up one color at a time. The digital RGB can display a rainbow of colors at the same time.

I like CableMod a lot, but $60 is pretty durn expensive for a vertical PCIe adapter bracket, considering there are cases with that kind of hardware already present for that kind of money. At the same time, those DP cables look pretty durn nice, and that PCIe riser appears to be pretty durable as well, with shielding and everything, so it's not like they've cheaped out on the accessories and charged a premium anyway.

I accidentally found the NZXT USB Hub at microcenter and with the ROG Crossfire VI, it only has one 2.0 header, so I desperately needed that to plug in my NZXT Case RGB and my Cooler Master fan RGBS, which all required seperate USB Headers.

I do agree on the 24-pin to 90 degree 24-pin connector should be included on the more expensive motherboards. We are paying like 200 some times more for a few capacitors and hopefully higher quality VRM too. The expensive ones are like to say you spent more on them in my mind. To which like yes there is a market to which they want to be able to say they meant more on the product even if it does the same or less. I am interested in if that Mars fan was successful or not. It is something i could see on case less computer builds for the VRMs and M.2 drives.

The CM right angle 24-pin block is great, used it in my newest build. Looked into the EVGA GPU thing but turns out you have to plug 2 power connectors from the PS into it even if the GPU itself only requires 1 connector.

I'm playing around with the thought of buying some Phanteks Halos for my pc for a year now. I don't need it but it looks so cool😢 I don't like spending so much money on rgb fans which are sometimes pretty loud... I worked out the perfect fan setup for my system over the last 2 years and don't want to change it haha so the halos would come in pretty handy

have you heard of the cooler Master Musketeer? It's a frontpanel status indicator for temperature hdd activity and sound volume. The cool thing is that it uses analog vu Meters for the displays
