Thanks for the YT video. I purchased the FL-600 flash unit last month. I am enjoying it and still trying to get used to its features and differences from my old Metz unit. The user manual says it's compatible with non-rechargeable alkaline AA batteries and rechargeable NiMH AA batteries. Can it also be used with rechargeable Lithium Ion 1.5 Volt AA batteries? Thanks

Unfortunately I sold my units a couple of years ago. I don't think there would be a problem with Li-ion AA cells. As long as the right voltage and current is going into the unit it doesn't really matter.

Many Thanks for the useful tips, please advise if this flash is compatible with ordinary Olympus OM4 Ti SLR Film camera or not. Please also advise if it could be used at any shutter speed using off the film metering or not. If not what flash unit would you recommend at present to be used with this Camera.

Sorry, I have no idea if that flash works on the Olympus 35mm film system. It does work on the 4/3 DSLR’s though.

Greetings. Can I use this flash on my PEN-F and E-M1 II, and is it compatible with the optional radiotrigger?
@Fotozones
Жыл бұрын
It will definitely work on the E-M1.2 and it should work on the Pen-F. However, it doesn't work with radio, only with line-of sight optical comms, so your clip on flash will need to see the remote flash.

@@Fotozones T.y. for your reply. I just got home from the local photostore, where I was asked if I should not instead use fixed lighting, which can be used independently of cam.-system. I am fishing for that instead. The intended use is indoor-macrophotography of droplets and other various closeups of things.

@@klauslehrmann3906 Yes, I'd recommend manual flash over TTL all the time now. TTL flash is just a convenience more than anything. If you learn manual flash you will have total control over your images. I replaced these 2 Oly flashes with a pair of inexpensive Godox TT600 units.

Manual says this flash has a FP TTLAUTO ( Super Flash. can't seem to get to this setting with the mode dial?
@Fotozones
5 жыл бұрын
You have to set this on the flash itself and you can only select it when the flash is connected to the camera. If you're planning on using remote flashes in FP mode then your RC mode on the camera will need to be set to fire the remote flash in that mode. It's very confusing, for sure!

Doesn't the zoom of the lens zoom the flash? Gosh, Minolta had this feature 20 years ago!
@Fotozones

It does automatically zoom, unless you have specifically turned on the manual zoom.

I put my Fl-600r flash in M for my video light and put in in RC mode. When I do that, my video light blinks very few seconds. Is suppose to do that ???? Jim, Charlotte, NC.
@Fotozones

That is quite normal behaviour. A bit annoying but it lets you know you are in RC mode.

If you shoot in FP mode I believe it will allow up to 1/8000.

I think you will find that if you drop any photography equipment there is a high chance it will break, especially flashes. I'm not particularly easy or rough on my equipment and the FL-600R's have served me well for over 5 years now.
