The writing is terrible (even you can't say it's good): strange creative choices, flat scenes, a million little things feel contrived, andcharacters like Lucy and (especially) Maximus who should be likeable and sympathetic just aren't. I can normally enjoy things without being bothered all that much by bad special effects but everything just feels so low-budget in this for no reason. The practical power armor suits made it feel a little clunky at times, but I don’t think thats a bad representation of power armor. As for the writing, I don’t know what you expected. This was never gonna be like the middle few seasons of the sopranos, or the first few of game of thrones, or the last few of Breaking Bad. It’s a fun, silly, fallout show. A lot of those robots and such only came into the scene in the years before the war. They would be very expensive for the average citizen to buy. It's actually more accurate to portray pre war society as mostly primitive 1950's era in 2077 cause it IS less advanced than our timeline in terms of most things. Developing fusion power led to a huge bottleneck of technological development that they were only just mending before the big one hit.

I recognized the lyrics of this song as having been in two movies of my childhood: Toy Story and Remember the Titans (although performed by different artist). But now hearing it as a 30-year-old adult I only now I actually get the lyrics for the first time…

I wonder if naming the Ghoul Cooper was intentional. Kyle MacLachlan’s character in Twin Peaks was named Cooper and also used a thumbs up as his signature. 👍

Vault boy after you step on all bear traps in dead money
Pretty chill guy. I met him IRL. First he told me, he can do his iconic thumbs up for only 5 Dollars. Then he changed his mind and did it for nothing... and another time. Poor guy fainted after that.

I never realised vault-boy was a real thing. And that thumb. 👍 I just thought it meant “vault-tec good”. I wondered why cooper didn’t want to show his thumb in the first episode. Now I know why.

It's really scary how his own wife gave permission to others to lie in his own face about the safety she and the company she works for are promoting
