Having been diagnosed in this last year with COPD, I simply want to say thank you, Derek, for your very informative and insightful videos. They have been very helpful with allowing my wife and loved ones to understand exactly what the day to day stuggles are. I hope you are well and breathing easy (or as easy as we can expect!) hahahaha, (apologies for the poor humour) Many thanks again, good health and god bless Connor

I have COPD and oxygen for three years. I thought I could breathe easier pushing a cart because I was putting some of my weight on it. Thanks for explaining it is from leaning forward a little. I just got a rollator for use where there are no buggies. Love your videos. Thanks for sharing.

I am stage 1 with AF, apnea and rushing about I suddenly get breathless especially if I am talking while rushing about. I take a pause and purse breathe. Difficult breathing weeks mean exhaustion; I have gotten better at taking a bit of oxygen and just resting. Must move that body though! Oxygen is our friend and everyone will understand. For guys taking time for personal care is paramount but an unconscious challenge. Just do it!

I once saw a health care provider demonstrate copd breathing to others who didn't suffer using a straw.

Yes, that is one way of doing it, Marge. The way I describe is more effective though. That is how our respiratory nurses are taught. :)
