The green colored copper water line does not need replaced, that is just surface patina...the supports holding that piping should be changed as you don't want dissimilar metals touching

Very good video but I disagree on one point. The cold line is oxidized, the same thing that happened to the Statue of Liberty, and is normal. I agree with all the other findings, though.

Correct. Flux will do the same thing as shown at the one joint coupling.

The greening of copper is called vertigris (sp?). It is usually atmospheric corrosion. But yeah, a metal bracket will eventually eat through a copper pipe but brass is ok.

Yep... there should be rubber insulations .... different metals touching..... damn.... + I would put a insulation around the pipes. That leak is bad....bad man.... very bad.... could be to drill a lot of concrete away to get around this. Did they "forget" to insulate the pipes going through the concrete? Damn...

Liking the channel. Easy to watch videos. Do you cover air quality tests for mold etc?

Fire code violations with the pipes running through the CMU and CIP walls and lid. Should have fire caulking around them.

We just had a slurry of quick connect Failures here in New Orleans. Hard to determine if failures related to poor installation or poor technology.

The green is excess Flux at the joint. Just sand or wipe that off and change the clamps. Replacing all that pipe isn't necessary

I work for two nim whits that buy buildings without a care for this stuff. Not knowing how much it costs them in the long run. Po-ed tenants, early lease breaks and repairs and or damage.. oh ya mold. Tenants beware, there are a lot of buildings like this around the country and your government be-it provincial or municipal DOES NOT CARE. It's all money , why should an MLA or whom ever care, they have a "job" for life.

Also could have been an emergency repair or repair with standing or live water. Don't judge. That is a fix. Sharkbites work well if you use them properly.

All those shark bite connections should have been a huge flag in your eyes. Only good for the cheap non licensed plumbers or for a quick fix until you can hard solder

GuyFoxHimself very true. Hence why we are not allowed to use them on any commercial projects up here. I have heard of tons of these blowing apart while no one is home. Hence why none of the plumbers I have been going to school with for the last 4 years use them. Unless it's only for a quick temp fix. If a plumber is using these. I would find a new plumber lol

CPKustoms That's nonsense. Unless you or these "plumbers" are reusing this fitting 100's of times where the internal O-ring disintegrates/falls apart, they do not leak. If you reuse more than 2 or 3 times, use potable-grade silicone lubricate and lubricate the O-ring so it does not get damaged. I've never had one leak. And very handy in cases where you have dripping/leaking water especially when connecting PEX to existing copper lines (in re&re cases).

Walter's Playground to each their own. None of us here in Manitoba like them or use them. Only time we use them is for a temp fix of a dripping line that can't solder until we get the proper pipe plugs or bread to hard solder. If I saw you using these on my site I would get a new helper.

@@morlamweb they have a habbit of pulling off the pipe, or bursting. it's a temp fix, not ment to be perm. always be to solder (copper) or have wirzbo
