WOW 🤩 YOU OUT DID YOURSELF ON THIS ONE!! I absolutely love love this piece. At first I was skeptical bc I’m not a fan of texture or distressing but you made me want to try this on a piece I have right now that I’ve been struggling with inspiration with my color scheme. It’s a mid century dresser and has beautiful appliqués on it, one I’m removing and replacing with woodubend and I was loving the dried sage and Spanish moss together for it but I’m stuck with a highlight color and maybe another darker color for shading or a glaze or a wax. I just got so much ideas watching you. Is the tools you used ( the scrapers) in the list below? And I notice the Klingon brushes look stiffer that my Dixie belle brushes, would they still work with that texture? Im supper impressed on this one. I do miss you spending more time on your videos talking us through what you’re doing. It’s like being there for a lesson. I’ve watched all your videos way back to when you were using the $6. Brushes from Home Depot. I ran out and bought a lot of them they were so cheap for a beginner to learn. After I got better at blending I bought me the expensive brushes which made a HUGE difference and then started adding other things to my pieces. The transfers intimated me lol. Now the decoupage is intimidating me lol. It’s a learning curve. Anyways I love this Brandy and I really wish you and your husband would come back on and teach how you used to. You guys were my weekly show lol. So funny like a sitcom. My bf started watching with me laughing with you and your husbands jokes. You became my favorite artist immediately and when I want to learn to blend something I go to your channel. I’ve watched some of the same ones many times. Well EXCELLENT JOB it’s beautiful, I’m going to do this on my piece now. Can you recommend a color scheme? I’ve used other craft chalk paint before but when I found Dixie belle I stuck with them. I LOVED how it self leveled. When I saw my piece in the morning I was like Omgosh this paint is amazing. Thank you for the lesson. ❤

May i ask if you painted a white color on top of the primer? I wonder if i use a clear primer would you need to paint a coat of white before adding the cream color saltwash in the corners. Otherwise the saltwash would be right on top of the clear primer, right?🙂
@BrushedbyBrandy
7 ай бұрын
True. If you chip back the cream over clear primer, it would show as wood color, so you might have more wood in your look. Would just depend on if you wanted layers of whites or more exposed wood in the chips

Brushed by Brandy, did you paint the whole piece in duck egg first, then the doors in ivory and then the second coat was just stippling with the salt wash and ivory again? Or did you just paint the edges in Duck Egg and then just stippled with ivory and salt wash over the primed white doors? Sorry, just a little confused.
@BrushedbyBrandy

The first coat was the opposite of the final colors. White under the blue and blue under the white

I love the piece. You are a true artist and your work is inspiring. I am surprised that you are not using the IOD products as they are a local small business like you; and you may not be aware but they just posted that their patent re the grid lines on their transfers was violated. Given your split from the paint brand you used to use, I wouldn’t think that you would promote a brand that uses shady practices.
