One of my more recent purchases and making-things projects. I designed a fancy ivy-leaf pattern for the cheek-pieces and got my Facebook friends to vote on whether or not to use it, and the very slim majority vote was for keeping the cheek-pieces plain.
Better and worse modern reconstructions than this one exist. I've not been impressed with the brass ones that cost about £500, and the only very authentic bronze ones I've seen cost thousands. You can get a cheapie for about £35 but I went a bit further and spent £68 including postage from India. I don't like to advertise, and I'm not making this video to promote a product, but I know that I'm going to get asked this, so I'll say that the helmet (not painted, and without a few other improvements I made) was from:
Ancient Craft Store
Shahzeb Ansari
Clock Tower
Gali No.4
Meerut, UP 250002 IN
You can look them up on Ebay.
