The “Super” ghost orchid at Audubon’s Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary is now blooming. Three blooms can still be seen this week, July 9, 2024, Ghost orchids are rare flowering plants with no leaves that rely on extremely sensitive, wetland habitats, and are only known to live in South Florida and Cuba. The Giant Sphinx Moth as well as the Fig Sphinx Moth are known for pollinating the Ghost Orchid.
