Got more questions on simazine. Can I spray and plant the same day?

Yes, spray the day you plant is best.

Had left over sweet corn next to my field corn and they ate every bit of that before they touched the beans or field corn

Same. We had 2 rows of sweet corn 50 yards long that ripened up before we could pick it and we let it dry down on the stalk, once they found it, it was gone. If the seed wasn’t so expensive I’d consider planting a little more.

Thanks for the video I guess I won't waste my money on nature crave being it's like triple the price and just use the field corn instead

I’d still give it a try at least 1 yr. Your deer might react differently. It’s protein content being higher will help long term.

Do you think in the last 5 years you have noticed a jump in better deer since you have been planting like you have?

It’s hard to say. Before planting food plots I was new to hunting and was running only 1-3 cams and didn’t have them set up in good spots didn’t get great pictures. There was big bucks before and big bucks now. It’s all down to genetics in the end of the day. Any area in my part of the state has good nutrition and not many environmental factors limiting rack size. But after following some bucks from 2-3 some have made impressive jumps. Sometimes you can recognize a buck from 1-2 and they will make a big jump.

Do you fertilize your corn? If so, how much, how often? Thx

I broadcast sometimes before we plow other times after we plow before we disc. I don’t take soil samples in every plot every yr. Generally I average 3-4 bags of 9-23-31 per acre. I rarely side dress with urea. A decent corn crop doesn’t need as much nitrogen as everyone thinks. P and K are more important.

How many acres of corn do you plant? Also does it last to the end of season

In our backyard I only have about 1/2 acre of corn and 1/2 acre of beans. The reason why I can get it to last so long is because the neighborhood deer don’t start hitting it hard until mid December and I know there are other people that feed them in their backyards but not a substantial amount because otherwise the deer wouldn’t be coming 3/4 mile to get here.

I would give it a try. I’m still going to try it in a few spots next year too. But I wouldn’t expect extreme attraction. I’m definitely impressed with the ear size. Some of the biggest highest yielding corn I’ve ever grown.
