It sucks I know only having one way with these harvesters but if you just wanna keep going round and round since your header is set on the right side of the tractor just keep going right and right until the harvester is full that's my idea

What's the difference between the pull behind combines vs the combine harvesters?? Which one is the least maintenance and which is more reliable???
@VaporSlav
Жыл бұрын
The only real difference is the fact that one has a Motor, Trans, and cab, but the other doesnt. They have the Same Guts and preform the Same, and the internals are just as reliable as one another.

How can you feed corn if your cows are organic….?
@organicpaulguy
Жыл бұрын
It is not written anywhere in the USDA organic standards program where it forbids any organic farmer from feeding corn to their animals. Now if we were a grass fed dairy, then it would be forbidden to do so. Corn is not harmful in itself to cattle if fed in the right amounts. To much corn can hurt them but too little corn and the cattle can be under nourished. The starch in the corn does help provide a much needed source of energy for the cattle, especially during the winter months when they need it. I hope that makes sense to you?

Not a darn thing wrong with that, I purchased a 2nd one for parts, but they both never break. Sure, I've moved on, that was back in my 2nd and 3rd year the 7721 was my main machine, but I still have them and will sometimes raise cover crops on small little areas I can't get in to easily with the newer equip. My 1st year I used a 1 row picker! Still have that too. I can't part with stuff I guess. But in a way, those were the good old days. I'd fill a couple of wagons, hop on that tractor and drive them in to put the corn up. No drier, you just couldn't combine it until it had dried down enough. I'd go back and forth from tractor to tractor. Neighbors all thought I was nuts, but I was in THERAPY! I was on the verge of developing a swinging mechanism that allowed it to swing from one side of the tractor to the other, then I found a good 9500 and picked it up instead. That thing was like the Star Trek Enterprise to me! Holy Cow, it's still a fairly modern combine, I moved beyond it too, but I still combine beans, field peas, field beans with it. It had a 12 row corn head on it when I bought it, way more than the machine could process, so I purchased a combine for the head I have, a 9610, and it could do a 12 row corn head. Slowly.

We put our 9500 against a S670 with the same head in 140 bu corn. S670 was 1.75 mph faster...but in 240 bu corn the S670 was 3 mph faster. 9500 with the big motor, extra side screens. Bottom sieve wide open and chopper off could do amazing things. Keep the concave new and the rub bars dull..Keep the ground speed up.

Did you have to take off the right side dual? It looks like you didn't have to, but I'm just wondering.

Great video! Is the tunge on that combine adjust hydraulically? I ask because you were steering back and forth some. How do you like the pull type combine? Thanks for sharing and please share more and longer. Thanks, Bill

Hi Wgberg, Thanks for the nice comment. The combine doesn't not have a hydraulic hitch. It just has a jack that you use to push out a release pin so that u can than put a block behind the wheel & drive forward to swing the hitch out. The pros of a pull type combine are that you have no engine, AC or transmission to do maintenance work on. Everything is easier to access on pull type combine. The cons of a pull type are that its hard to break through the field & combine the headlines off with it. You half drive all the way to other end of the field ever time you get to the end because you can turn right around like you can with a self-propelled combine. Last but not least you also get a very stiff neck from looking back the combine all the time.

Cool video of the 7721. I've got a neighbor that farms organic, and your crops puts his to shame.

Hey thanks Chris. We certainly try to do the best job possible on our crops. I think some farmers are only in it for the money and do a half hearted a job at it. You can always tell the difference between a farmer who takes pride in his crops and a farmer who doesn’t.

What is the model number of the corn head? Is is special to the 7721 or would it fit another jd combine? As an example would it fit a 7720 self propelled.

Joe Glassmeyer 444 corn head. It will fit a 6620 or 7720. Probably even an early model JD 9400 combine.
