Connor Licharz (@licharzmusic) is an American contemporary organist, composer and singer. Based in Southern California, Connor has performed vocally in classical and modern settings, and along with being a free-lance church organist, they have performed pipe organ recitals in America and internationally.
This beautiful piece provides an opportunity to show off the Cornett (or Cornet, language depending), a series of harmonic pipes which produce a very unique and iconic sound (for instance, a combination of a Nasard (2 2⁄3') and a Tierce (1 3⁄5'), or a single stop with multiple harmonics). Available information suggests the Cornett became popular from the early 17th Century, especially in French and some English music.
