Cornish Piskies are an important element of Cornish folklore and we asked Siân to contribute a short video sharing an overview of their part played in the Cornish folk tradition.
Siân is Exhibitions and Engagement Officer for Wheal Martyn China Clay Museum. She recently graduated with a Master’s Degree in Celtic Studies. She is a museum professional, podcaster and amateur folklorist from Cornwall. Here Siân talks about the Cornish piskie, arguably one of the most well-known creatures of British folklore. They’re often portrayed as cheeky and mischievous but ultimately harmless.
But are they?
Siân runs a number of social media sites and podcasts relating to her interests in Celtic folklore and links will be provided at the end of this video. We hope you will visit Siân’s sites and learn more about Cornish and Celtic folklore.
