In this fourth video of the trip to Falmouth the wind was still quite a strong easterly restricting where I could comfortably and safely fish with the boat. It took a while to locate a few Mackerel to use as bait in the creel, but having caught a couple, I headed towards St Anthony Head to re set the creel and make more space in the boat.
I’d fished this area last year and had a feeling the tide state might be right to use lures for a chance to catch a Bass (or two hopefully). I was soon into some hard fighting Schoolie Bass. A number of larger Mackerel also put up a strong fight in between the Bass. All the Bass were carefully returned to grow into much bigger fish. It's worth being aware of minimum size limits (42cm for Bass) and any local restrictions such as nursery areas with 'no take' zones. Please note, I was fishing just outside the no take zone line. All Bass were returned.
After a cool start the weather warmed up in the afternoon which followed the pattern of the last few days. Hope you enjoy this video, add any comments, questions or suggestions below.
Tight lines from me and a tail wag from Dee.
