I have to watch this again. I have never in my living life seen anything this intense, and I have seen some amazing athletes in action and trained with some incredible individuals. It's as thrilling to me to see people perform like this as it is to watch Olympians in action. But the difference is THIS is about life and death, not athletics.

In the 80s when I was in the Marines stationed at Camp Pendleton, a bunch of us "volunteered" to go down to Coronado Island and run their O course and do some rappelling. The course in the video is pretty much as I remember it. The hardest O course i ever did. I didn't run it anywhere near as fast or smooth as this guy of course but it was a cool thing to get to do.

You can actually do that in multiple different ways, he chose this method, I might choose the method where I hang upside down. But keep in mind, these men are training to become SEALs, I am pretty sure that they don't feel that due to the other pain proposed to them earlier on in Phase one.

I noticed some comments asking if civilians are allowed to try this course. Please try to understand that if civilians were allowed to try that O-course, the Navy would be swimming in injury lawsuits within a week. Even if the civilians signed waivers, the Navy would be sued for negligence for not placing pads or pools of water underneath every obstacle.

I understand why some trainees fall and break a bone or 2 and are out of training. This is the most dangerous O course I have seen and I have seen Marine and Army and Naval Aircrew in Pensacola courses (I ran Pensacola for the Aviators and Aircrew) but this is the most dangerous. That Tower is real dangerous, you fall down you will fall down on the sand not water and you will break something.
@oscarthegrouch8992

Most OCourse have water under the rope slide.. we put a net back in 99 but more guys got fucked up when legs, arms and necks got entangled when they fell.. it only last a year or so.. most guys fall feet first (sand dart) but usually walk away.. some break legs and a few necks

I'm guessing you're pretty much proper screwed if you take a dive off that huge vertical net? I heard somewhere they said that the obstacle course helps to "expose indecision." I would probably stand as the base of the net staring at it for 10 minutes before I was told to get my ass off the course.

Seven Twenty & Ten Second's he is not a Navy Seal at the time of this video but he is in a buds class which is the class you have to take to start your journey to becoming a seal. You can see he has a brown shirt which means he passed hell week already and most people after hell week graduate or get rolled for medical reason and then graduate so more likely than not this guy is now a Seal or became a Seal and retired since this video is old.
