I just got my CT Coronary Calcium Score. The report reads: Calcium by vessel: -Left main (LM): 0. -Left anterior descending (LAD): 21 -Left circumflex (LCx): 0 -Right (RCA): 0 -Posterior descending (PDA): 0 But now that I have watched your video, I'm a little worried as you spoke of the LAD as the "Widow Maker." And all of my calcium is in that artery. Not sure how to handle this. - Appreciate all of the work that you do and the information you supply. Very helpful.

Does calcium ascorbate contribute to calcification ? Should I stop taking it ? Thank You and greetings from Singapore.

CIMT is hard to find in Raleigh, NC. Cardiologist said he would consider doing a coronary calcium score, cost to me, $400. He is with Rex Hospital.

$400 is 4 X what most charge. And call Heidi at CardioRisk to see when they have something nearby.

Since you're talking about calcium... do you know anything about PXE and possible treatment?

I had a CAC in 2009. It picked up I had soft plaque. The cardiologist started me on 40 mg of Lipitor. In 2015 he repeated the CAC and score was 44. The cardiologist said that the soft plaque had hardened. How unusual is it for a CAC to pick up soft plaque. Fortunately I did not realize how dangerous soft plaque is at the time or I would have Ben super worried.

@@PrevMedHealth Hi Doc. I just now saw your reply here. You said 35 mcg. I think you meant to say more than that or am I mistaken? Always enjoy the topic of calcium scoring.

Hi Dr. Brewer! May I ask your opinion regarding an older lady who has aortic stenosis (symptom free) who is doing everything right to lower her arterial plaque? Since she is an older lady and like most subject to osteoporosis, would it be okay for her to supplement with a good form of Calcium? She would also take the MK-7 K-2. Or is supplementing with Calcium not a good Idea? I am concerned about bone loss for her and I am hoping for a way to preserve. Thank you!

@@PrevMedHealth Thank you for responding Dr Brewer, I asked her and she feels at some point a while back she was told she had some. I am mostly thinking of prevention. She is also loosing stature.

Good for you. That means your risk is low relative to many people. But it also means that you have plaque. Do you know what to do for that? How are you managing it? How about root cause? Is yours prediabetes like most of us? Or do you not know?

@@PrevMedHealth Maybe it will help if I rephrase it. Men, in general, eat more protein than women. Perhaps some do it to gain more strength. So, maybe those (men or women) that eat more protein may have a life span that is not as long as those that eat less protein. Not sure if there is a study on that. I think Valter Longo, Ph.D, touches on that topic.
