Farewell to Corrie 1984 - the year of: the Websters, the final swansong of a Walker (albeit roguish Billy) in the Rovers, Elsie Tanner's far too rushed exit, and the sad loss of Stan Ogden. For me, New Year 1985 marked the beginning of the last decade of the "Golden Era", with Bet as Queen of the Rovers. After that, it was downhill all the way.
