UnderVolting is relatively easy and safe for the hardware, of course, if it's done correctly! Unfortunately, as it turns out, all media, guides, or videos on KZitem have performed this procedure incorrectly. Information contained in some materials led to providing higher voltages rather than lower, which is a total contradiction to the idea! This situation caused the user's equipment to run at lower clocks than the factory at higher voltages, which at the same time limited performance and accelerated the process of equipment wear and tear, i.e., degradation.
This material has been divided into two parts due to the complexity of the problem. In the first part, I will guide you through the process on RTX 2000 and 3000 series cards. I will also explain why manufacturers decide to provide higher voltages than processors could work with by default.
The second part will present you with the correctly executed underVolting process on the latest RTX 4000 series cards and the oldest ones up to GTX 770. We will also discuss the mistake others made in this matter. You will see examples and benchmarks of the performance and clocks achieved with underVolting done my way and the way proposed in the past by other media. There will also be a few additional tips that will help you optimize the clock and voltage curve adjustment even better.
