I agree with you! Corrine's love for Christopher Sr felt very juvenile to me, almost superficial.. and definitely not the "conquer all and lasts forever" type. More like, a strong attraction and screw all else. And that is very much in her character. She wasn't necessarily a person evil to the core, she had some moments of being good- but altogether, she left me with an impression of being a person who is quite smart but also shallow and self-absorbed, someone who would use her wit mostly to manipulate others (esp. her father to get what she wanted), who would follow their own (sexual) impulses without thinking twice or caring what price others will pay for it. I don't even think she truly loved Christopher for who he was and what he represented. She loved... how beautiful and physically attractive he was and how it made HER feel (well, hot and excited) And later on we get to see that first and foremost, she loved... the feeling of being loved (and adored). She even said that in "Flowers" (as she excused her marriage to Bart to her kids), "I loved your father but he is gone and I need someone to love me(...)" And like you said, she loved the life of a rich girl and this is what won in the end.

You know that's the funny thing she was all about perfect and not about money then for her to go back and take her children to what she despised knowing her mother hated her so much because the mother couldn't have the Father's Love because he was in love with his own daughter yet she chose to be with his half-brother which is her half uncle I just never understood how she could do that to her children

I'll be the phargraph girl coz I can't forget these two. The actors are great but the story is crazy. 😂 Here's the spoilers. Christopher (the guy) and the girl(Corrine)'s father are half-brothers. Her grandfather remarried a young woman and have Christopher. So the guy is her uncle but her age. her father hates Christopher even when he's just a baby. But her father likes Christopher's mother who's his stepmother technically. He killed his own father, raped his stepmother and she got pregnant with Corrine. So Christopher and Corrine are half-siblings too. But they covered it up and tell everyone Corrine is the child of her father and his wife. They sent the stepmother and Christopher away. This is when Christopher comes back to this town to meet his half-brother and family after his mother died. He knows nothing. And he meets Corrine here in the town at a shop first. After, they meet again at the house and found out they are uncle and niece. But they like each other and try to be together and that's when they found out they are half-siblings too. And they got together anywayyyy lol

Corrine didn’t care about anyone but herself, when Christopher died it didn’t take her a year before she got married again, she kept complaining about how mean her mother was to her but Olivia was a wonderful mother until Corrine traumatized her and ran away, also I don’t think it’s said in the movies but I heard in the books we find out Malcolm died because Corrine poisoned him so she could get his money after he put her name in his will, and years later she killed her tortured mother lighting her room on fire, after the kids ran away Cathy and Carrie tried to reconnect with her many times and she ignored them over and over because she loved her rich lady life and how everyone thought she was perfect and everything was about her, she lied to Bart saying she couldn´t have children (she took birth-control pills) because she didn’t want to share her joy with anyone else, and then when she lost it all she tried to take Cathy and Chris’ kids away from them, she told them lies to try and turn the kids against their parents framing them as the bad guys so the grandkids would like her better, she gave little Bart a pet snake just to “buy his affection” despite of how dangerous it could have been, when her kids tried to give her another chance to be their mother again Corrine turned her back on them because she liked her fancy life better but then when she lost it all she tried to steal their happy family life for herself like a parasite, I’m glad her butler told Bart the truth about her and then killed her in a fire (Corrine died the same way she killed Olivia), she won’t meet Christopher again in the afterlife…
