If I was a kid and had this happen I would most likely piss my pants

My copy of Pokémon red has the exact same problem. Do you know what caused it?

It's probably a low battery or a bad power cycle while saving, gen 1 is full of bugs. The only way to get rid of this would likely be to pull out the battery or flash a working save to the cartridge.

Doesn't seem corrupted. The cartidge might be at a very low battery or something because a corrupted save file wouldn't even load up at all. It's funny how glitchy it is that it almost seems like it's corrupted. I hope you dumped that save file.

The save file does this on emulators too when loaded, I've tried it out myself. There's a download link in the description to the save file as well. The battery may be low, but that low battery corrupted the actual save file since this is replicable in emulators.

@@NottJoeyOfficial I didn't know that was actually possible for a cartidge to corrupt itself. This is a very rare case of happening and it happened to you. I used to have Red and Blue but it never did this when I owned it.

@@KixVux Yeah, I figure if I put a new save file on there or deleted the old one it would go back to normal, so I may try that next time I want to play Pokemon Blue, I'm just happy I have the right equipment to dump the save file like I did.

I think if I were to delete the save manually, it would fix the problem. I did dump the save to an emulator, and it was the fault of the save as the same thing happened on the emulator. Maybe I'll add a download to the save file at some point.
