Thanks for posting your build!!! I've got a 1979 Baja w/a jet drive that I've got to do all the same work to! Your vid is helping give me the courage to get started on my project! All of what I saw is about what I expected, but now having seen it done, no longer "seems" as overwhelming! Congratulations!!! You put in a LOT of hard work, and now you have a BEAUTIFUL boat to show for it!!! Thanks for the inspiration, and reference video to fall back on when my project starts getting rough!

You need to trim that boat and get a mirage plus prop. I’m guessing 23p if you’re running the 7.4 with a bravo. You need the “plus” it has more of a cup to it which will give you more bow lift. If you get that boat out of the water you should see 60-65 with it.

Frisco....Love what you've done with the Sea Ray, absolutely awesome work with detail. You do realize that your OCD right? Buy something and immediately start taking it apart to make it better....that's a good thing by the way...I'm the same way but my OCD problem is with boats and motorcycles....LOL. I like what you did and the boat so good I bought a 1995 Sea Ray 180 Signature (white and blue as well...but not the electric blue :-( but the guy I got it from took the 4.3L out and replaced it with the 5.7L. Needless to say she screams (57mph). When I watched this video a few months ago you had links for the thru hull exhaust but now they are not there. The research I've done puts me around 1,800.00 for the thru hull exhaust but I think your links where much cheaper than that....I know this has been a while and prices change....is 1,800.00 about right for the system you put in?

Sea Ray makes a good boat but I hate side exhaust. it makes the boat sound like a tractor. If you have the 7.4 motor in there, then what you have is a truck motor converted to a marine motor. The heads on it are what is referred to as "peanut" port because they are so small...worthless for big horsepower, but great for making low end power and torque. This motor has all "cast" internal parts...ie...crank, rods and pistons. Dont let the RPM's get over 4800 or the motor might toss a rod...then teh expenses begin.
@MrDynafxdc
10 жыл бұрын
I agree with the side exhaust I don't like it either that is why on my Celebrity 240 put in thru hull exhaust and ran the Corsa exhaust out the back. I've been told it sounds like a Baja when throttling up. And while you can find some 454's in old trucks it was not designed for trucks, but Corvette's and muscle cars of the past.
