So I was watching The Provoked Prawn’s behind the scenes video of his review of this case and the PDF manual that you can download has a hole on the top for a 120mm fan. Cause in his build he was very confused on where a certain fan was supposed to go. Apparently the manual is for a prototype that they never released and didn’t take the time to change it

I tried dual and triple radiators in this case. The one by the graphics card isn't much of a problem, however I'm not sure if it does much since the air flow is so small over the radiator. The problem I ran into with two different motherboards is the other 240mm slim radiator or the fans on the radiator either hits the RAM or the clips for the RAM on the motherboard. The triple radiator setup must be very motherboard specific and only work with certain ITX motherboards. I tried both MSI and Asrock ITX boards and neither would work due to the clearance issues with 15mm thick fans and a 20mm thick radiator.

Thanks for testing the water cooling potential!! I have been wondering about the max radiator you can fit since they announced the case as currently I have a NR200 with 2x240rads that still seems not enough for the 5800X3D and 3090 it has inside, so this case might be what I need :)

I agree. I prefer to get more cooling so I can run fans at idle to kill noise. You’d probably be fine with a 240 and 360 though

Would a 280 mm radiator also fit in the front or back? I have an Alphacool Eiswolf 2 and Eisbaer joint together in one loop and wondering if it would fit in this case?
@CrazyTechLab

Yes but the width may prevent you installed fans in the adjacent slots as it's quite narrow. But at 20:40 you can see there are mounts for 140mm fans so you could put a 280mm rad there no problem

Hello, I stumble uppon this video while doing some research for a future build. I want to build a tinier PC to travel time to time. I have a Arctic Freezer ii 240mm with the fan sold with the cooler. Would having the front and side fans as exhaust improve the GPU temps? Or is this something you wouldn't recommend? It is a shame they didn't include a fan in the top 😢
@CrazyTechLab
Жыл бұрын
If you have the fans on the GPU bracket as intakes that will likely improve temps there yes. But you’d need to use slim fans with dual slot cards and there’s not enough space for fans if you use a triple slot card.
@Alan-ib9rb

@CrazyTechLab sorry I meant the fans on the front of the case as exhaust and putting fans on the side of the case as exhaust with a low profile CPU cooler, I wondered if the fans on the GPU would draw air from the rear and be assisted by the two exhaust sides for better airflow?
@CrazyTechLab
Жыл бұрын
@@Alan-ib9rb Maybe a degree or two. They’d be working against that GPU filter. But if you had the side fans exhausting air then they’d be working against the low profile air cooler. Although as I said in the review, I think most people would go for a liquid cooler with this case.

would it be at all possible to fit a full 240 with slim fans on the front, looking at the video it doesn't look possible. if not any case mod suggestions to get it to fit?
@CrazyTechLab
Жыл бұрын
No the issue is the proximity to the motherboard and I/O panel and even then the fittings would foul the 360 radiator on the side. If you don’t use the side mount for s radiator then you can probably cut away the mounting at the front to shift the radiator up a bit so it clears the motherboard.

What's the thickness of the radiators you used? It kinda looked like 2 x 20mm thick radiators with 15mm noctua fans?? so 35mm in total or would a 40mm set up also fit inside? My rads I have are like 25mm thick. I have 15mm and 12mm thick slim fans to my disposal so I could go down to 38mm thickness in total. What exactly can fit in this case???
@CrazyTechLab
Жыл бұрын
All hardware is listed in the description but they were XSPC TX240 slim radiators (20mm thick) and slim (15mm) fans. You'll get much better results using 15mm slim fans as opposed to 12mm - all the 12mm ones I've tested have been terrible, especially on radiators. Both sides you're left with millimetres to space in some spots, but the GPU side is critical to get as much clearance between the GPU waterblock and fans as possible. It won't be possible to fit 38mm of hardware there, at least not with the EK block I used. There's be zero clearance and fans wouldn't be doing anything. In fact they're probably be rubbing on the waterblock

@@CrazyTechLab omg thats so tight especially the gpu side, but on the other side the ram sticks and probably the io shield etc looks also tight. Do you think a ddc /cpu combo block is sufficient for all 3 radiators or do you think that a d5 pump is necessary? In your video I didn't like how the reservoir/pump block ended up on the very top part of the case. I wished you could invert the case so that the pump at least is on a lower level. Jayztwocents reviewed a pre-built from orion and that version was inverted kzitem.info/news/bejne/mqWFl5yYpoeCY4Y thanks a lot btw for taking your time abd answering my questions. Good review man. Really disappointing from Corsair though, couple seriously bad missteps. That power cables is unforgivably bad in my mind, and the lazy/inaccurate clearance measurements on the cpu cooler kinda adds to the feeling that they didn’t pay enough attention to the details here.

Just be careful with the air restriction. You might need to run fans faster to make the most of it resulting in more noise. Higher FPI potentially means more cooling but also greater air restriction

Great Video! Completely agree with your criticisms, especially regarding the cable routing. I'm curious thought, would it be possible to move the case feet to the back and mount the front fans as top exhaust? There are 4 holes in the back in positions where it looks like the feet could go, which makes me wonder whether that was an early design intention, especially because the back filter looks very similar to other bottom case filters :D
