Awesome help my dude, I have found similar issue in my partner's mouse and it was identical to yours. Definitely a design flaw considering the mouse is said to have several millions of clicks in it and my partners was like this within short span of time after receiving it. Great video, it helps a lot when it comes to this issue with either left or right mouse buttons. 10/10 rating from me.

Glad to be of service. Unfortunately, this is not a flaw with this mouse, this is a flaw with all mice. They used to use metal capped plungers for a reason, now they're plastic, for a different reason.

Thank you so much for this! I was only looking for a disassembly only video but found out you were running into the same problem as I had and even had a fix for me! Absolutely fantastic, thank you. I ended up using Gorilla Super Glue Gel and just spreading a very, very thin layer of it with some (hobby?) tweezers. I really only filled in the worn down area of both buttons and then leveled out the area. Hopefully it'll last longer than the original plastic in there but it's working just amazingly again.

I have had the issue of my left click starting to not register or more-so often double clicking. My right click started to do the same while playing PoE so i decided to just take a crack at it. With almost 4 years of use my mouse has also developed ruts in where the trigger meets the plastic. Thank you for making this video! I instead sanded both sides level and now they click like they are brand new again. Here's to 4 more years! :)

Thank you so much for this video, I've had a scimitar for about 4 years and it has started to double and triple click; I'll give this a shot today. Edit: Looks like a worn out plunger wasn't the problem, which leaves me more confused and disappointed, so I guess its time to look for a new mouse ☹
@stompyrobutts

This video is more for a lack of clicking. Double/triple clicking is almost always a sign of a worn micro-switch, and not a problem with the actuator/plunger, which was the case for my mouse.
@jeffzebert4982

Here are two things that will kill a mouse microswitch; and BOTH of these have to do with the copper leaf spring that's inside. 1. Detensioning (in this case, you'll need to retension said spring) 2. Corrosion (in this case, you'll need to de-tarnish that spring somehow... such as by immersion in a pot of hot water that has a shiny-side-up piece of aluminum foil at the bottom; mix this hot water with some baking soda and salt, keep the spring in the water and in contact with the foil for several minutes, and then carefully and completely dry off the spring, hopefully without bending it out of shape) If you're good with a soldering iron, though, you might want to purchase new microswitches for your mouse (even HIGH-QUALITY mouse microswitches are not that expensive). Preferably, pay a bit more money for a set of two Kailh mouse microswitches (the red ones). Just de-solder the old switches by using a heated soldering iron and a de-solder pump, pull those old microswitches right up and off the circuit board, and then solder the new microswitches to the circuit board. If you use the "more expensive" microswitches, then chances are you'll actually end up saving money in the long run by not having to spring for new switches once every year or two. P.S. Corrosion is an especially deceptive thing because a mouse microswitch with a corroded spring typically SOUNDS perfect (i.e. you actually hear proper clicks when you press down on it). The problem with corrosion is that it weakens the electrical contact that the leaf spring is supposed to make. I believe I know what sorts of environment can cause a microswitch's copper spring to corrode within one year: a coastal area -- including the Great Lakes (high humidity), near an area of heavy industry (high concentrations of sulfur compounds in the air), and the area near an active volcano (again, high concentrations of sulfur compounds in the air). Kailh mouse microswitches, however, are gold-plated to prevent corrosion in the first place. So... why not just build the ENTIRE microswitch spring out of solid gold? Here's why not: gold is simply too soft to make a good spring.

Cheers for this, I just had to whip mine apart to lubricate the little green wheel inside as the mouse wheel was briefly flicking to the opposite direction when mouse wheeling. A tip to others though I might be the only numpty to do it... Don't unscrew the little Allen key screw that releases the little side pad slider. Though it looks like it in the video you don't have too, I did and now have a spare surclip (spelling?) left over :P It doesn't do anything important thankfully, just stops that adjuster screw popping all the way out if released. The case wasn't separating on one side so I thought it was that, it wasn't, you just have to be a little bold pulling it apart on the side... Not too bold, just a little bold ;)

Yes sir! Thatll work nicely as well! You just have to make the end of the plunger solid again without making it too much thicker. If you make it too thick on the bottom, the plunger won't have enough room to actuate. Too thick on the sides and it will get caught up in the hole for the plunger Any old tape will do if you don't have the gorilla stuff God speed

I got frustrated after it started double-clicking and in that moment I caved the top of the microswitch in by mashing left click too hard. As discovered in one of the earlier comments, I now recommend just sanding/filing the end of the plunger flat again, the slightly increased travel feels nice and makes it much harder to damage the surface again. Unfortunately, mine still functions well to this day and I've never had to get in that far into it. I do know that the entire module can be removed, just be careful with the ribbon cable if you've never taken one off before, they are surprisingly fragile and easy to tear. As for the disassembly of the keypad module itself, you're in unexplored territory, and I can't really help you there. I would imagine you could get it apart and clean it up, but making any sort of repair if something physically broken might be tough short of replacing the whole unit from a used one or something. Do let me know how it goes though!
