Not just caring, but being able to keep on eye on it and move it back into place, while not even coming close to losing his utterly supreme musical train of though. I'd fumble "twinkle twinkle" so badly i'd have to stop if I even looked at the glass moving.

The bass player had the night of his life. Had perhaps never heard of Henry before? Noooo, impossible.... But just couldn't believe his eyes and ears. Henry really is from another dimension, improvising a bit and ramming this out of the keyboard on a random Friday evening. Very, very, very impressive.

I just know that I've given that same "nod" (from the keys) when I'm ready to come out of a section, and he visibly leaned left to signal somebody for something, whatever it was. Then, he went with the glissando, and it's just not my experience that Cory Henry goes with the "hand slide" in his solos on purpose. Think that was his way of saying, "Aight, that's enough." LOL Last, Cory didn't REALLY wanna be up there to begin with (the keyboard player "friend" fronted him off pretty bad...), but once he got into "Beast Mode," it was a wrap. I believe that look at the end was, "You can have this back now; I'm leaving." (and he probably left the BUILDING when he got up...LOL!)

Learn bebop. That will give you the fundamentals on how the sound of modern jazz works. Then from there experiment with playing with different key centers to get that “out” sound.
