Things have changed since the first time you moved. It is not possible to live in berlin with 550 euros a month anymore. Minimum rent (for shared WG, with smallest room: 9 sq meters) is aroud 450 euros unless you are very connected to German grandpas who have old housing contracts. The rent is increasing day by day/ I would say, the absolute minimum in 2022, is 900 euros, but you will not have a life -- you will be stuck at home and not be able to go out to restaurants, bars etc. With 1400-1600 euros a month, you can live comfortably. Even students in Berlin, in 2022, end up spending around 1000 euros a month.

@Romualdomgn84

I wonder what is the situation in the end of 2022. How did political mess influence on the cost of living? I checked rent in the southeast of Berlin-Brandenburg and price for a flat is around 1000 euro/month (warmmiete). In my country together with my wife we spend 1000 Euro per month for life (food, public transport, cat, medical, beauty, bath chemistry). This doesn't include travelling, mortgage, restaurants, rent, etc, only for necessary things! And my country is much more cheaper, than Germany with almost free of charge gas, electricity and water. Hence, as I'm thinking of moving to Germany, in this case 2500 Euro is necessary only for rent, food, daily commute and live in a modest way without possibility to save extra money, go clubbing, shopping, eat out, buy a car, etc.

These numbers are on the very lower end (very stingy and think about every penny you spend) cause just eating at a McDonalds or street side will set you back ~10-15 euros. Similarly grocery if chicken is 8 euros a Kg & vegetables are ~ 3 euros etc. how can you do 7 days with 20 euros (he mentions monthly grocery 90 euros) ?

Well, you should have mentioned first the optimal apartments sizes like 30-40 meters for single, or 50-80 meters for couple. Living in a shared room or studio is stupid and if you cannot afford a normal apartment you shouldn’t move to Germany at all.

I have a question, do you have to pay taxes if you only go to Germany with a work visa for example 1-2 years and not live there forever, if you go with a work visa for a short period that means you're not a citizen of Germany so do you have to pay taxes in this case?
@harshad_dev

If you are earning more than a certain threshold (11k for 1st tax class) per year in germany then you have to pay income tax irrespective of your residential status

nicely explained. impressed. But what about married peoples' savings? let's say a guy thinking to be expat in Germany, married ( having 2 yr old child), say, wife won't be working, has a European masters degree, a total of 12 yrs experience (2 yrs in Europe after master), knowing German up to B1. Now in this scenario, if assume your monthly salary figure i.e. 4500 euro (although u can give other figures also aligned almost with the given profile), then how much savings post-tax would be in Construction Industry?? kindly give an approx figure if you can. Thanks.

This is not realistic. This is low level living style in Germany. If you are looking decent living style, you should spend min. 300 € for groceries. You can eat rice, bread, low qulity meat and product etc. you can decrese the 300 € but not much. Don't expect 90 € groceries.
