If you haven’t thought of it already, definitely get a VPN! The internet here is actually pretty good and affordable. I would recommend Astrill VPN, but you can def explore all of your options.

How long does it take you to get into the center by bus, from where you live? I'm just asking, because I'm thinking of moving there, but don't earn enough for rent in the center. Thanks 😊
@miasfitlife9051
3 жыл бұрын
Well, I've never taken a bus from my area, because it's very close to a metro station. So using the metro, about 45 minutes to the city center.
@js_guyman

@@miasfitlife9051 oh ok, metro's even better. Can you find a seat pretty often on the metro, or is it usually packed with people?
@miasfitlife9051
3 жыл бұрын
@@js_guyman It, of course, depends on which metro line. If you are getting on the first stop, you might be able to find a seat, but during the two work rush times, it's almost impossible.

You have a few options, there are some apps (but be aware these lie and sometimes show photos of other apartments). Honestly, my suggestion would be to wait until you are here to find an apartment, that way you can look at it for yourself. You can either go to an agency in the desired area or find a foreigner apartment group on wechat. I also suggest if you don't speak Chinese, bring someone who does and you trust to help translate and make sure you aren't getting ripped off.

Honestly it depends on how you live. If you get cheap food, you could probably live on 1000 or less a month, but if you are eating at Western restaurants/buying foreign food products it would be more. For one person should be around 1500 RMB.
