I'd argue that for a lot of people, a car isn't necessary at all. There's so much traffic in Sydney that even on the weekends, the roads are packed. For road trips or the like, rent a car. You'd save thousands of dollars in the long run.

You two have nailed it. You're great presenters, your content is excellent in sound and video quality, cam angles and editing, and (just an idea) if you worked on a bit more detail and strecthed them out to about 30 minutes each - you're not at all boring so it would be very watchable - you could travel the world making a different city each time and make a great living out of this. You're easily, to this century, what Lonely Planet books were to the last century. Start by doing Melbourne and Brisbane, finish off Australia, then head to Europe where any city is a couple of hours away. Don't be afraid to credit sponsors - just make sure they're credible and in line with the honest image you're presenting. You really are the best at this that I've seen, and as you know there are a lot of people doing it. Don't be scared off by the competition - you're the BEST. Well done! :)

Hey Nick and Helmi!! So great to see you guys and awesome you're doing a cost of living in Sydney. The prices are similar to living in Los Angeles. Loved checking out the markets where you guys go. The prices seem very comparable as well. The only thing that seems a lot higher is petrol prices. Here it's about $3.50/Gallon, and even that is expensive for where we live.

Getting taxed at an average of 25 per cent on average.Food? The ocean is all over Sydney.Seafood?Try paying 35 bucks for a kilo of prawns, lol Tolls at an average of 5.00-700 to go through main roads. Where I live in Canada, food looks comparable, electricity and a phone is significantly cheaper in Sydney. Car insurance is lower, but gas is more expensive. House prices and rent is where Sydney kills ya. 1m+ for a 2 bedroom condo larger than a closet. I could buy 3 houses here for that. 2000 a month for rent is like a penthouse suite downtown. Also australia taxes are significantly higher.

Hi! I’m planning to venture out to the country from the States towards the end of the year. I’ve been in TX most of my life so I’m used to the heat (although it might be a different type of heat). Being able to work for anywhere I’m flexible as far as dates & cities go. Do y’all have any recommendations? Genuinely asking. Your feedback will be greatly appreciated. I’ve between Gold Coast, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney. Also, if y’all know the current state of the country I’d love to hear about it. I’m doing so much research before I relocate.

Hi Olivia, I would say Sydney is more like NYC, Melbourne is like SF whereas Perth and Gold Coast are more laid back like TX. For cost of living Sydney & Melbourne are more expensive then Perth and Gold Coast. In actual fact the average wage in Sydney is roughly $2,000 a week..that's $104,000 per annum. Income tax is not that great, pause on the formula they show and pause it and work it out - there are also many subsidies. With two people the average gross is about $4,000 a week ........this is mind boggling. It CAN be very expensive but it does not have to be, as to electricity it is CHEAPER than the Philippines, but people USE a lot more. Coffe is actually MORE expensive than they say and eating out can be VERY expensive, a glass of beer at a pub is usually about $4-00 and up but NOT $15 at a pub. Aldi is becoming a major player but woolworths and coles do rule but iga is also getting a bigger hold. Toilet paper is about 35 cents a roll on average and up, But these guys , while they are telling the truth it does not reflect prices as they really are. You can buy shoes at K Mart for $5 and most things there pretty cheap its like any where I spose, you can find lots of things that if you dont watch it youve spent your money !
