I just stumbled across your channel and I've read a few of the comments. I met my Thai wife in 2016 while on holiday, not a bar girl she's actually a qualified accountant. We spent the first 12months with me going back to Thailand and her coming to visit me on a visit visa. Long story short in the second year we got married in Thailand and the decision was made for her to come to the UK. I'm now over £10k lighter with visa fees and NHS contributions, however my wife went through her UK citizenship ceremony in June this year and now has a UK passport. It's a long and expensive journey, however I've been very lucky with finding my wife and I trust her implicitly (unlike my previous marriage 😅). Our intention is to retire in the next 3yrs, I'll be fortunate enough at 55 to be able to retire and we are going to spend the next chapter of our lives in Thailand. I wish you all the best for your future with hopefully your Thai wife.

Hi Steve & Pim of course, a new subscriber here found your channel by accident, one of your videos just popped up! Enjoyed looking at several videos of yours today, it takes me back!! I'm 61 & have lived in rural Thailand full-time for 10+ years we've been married for 16 years & have an eleven year old son. Don't worry I'm not here to lecture but emphasise with you "long-distance relationships are hard, but both have to be willing" so true Steve. I remember all the naysayers joking about "how old is she 15"....."Oh a Thai bar girl.....your money's gone".....I learned not to react. The best thing like me you didn't choose a bar girl, that's a great start. We have built our home for a fraction of the price it would cost in the UK. It would however be irresponsible for me that's actually endured the same to point out certain things. I refused to build a house until I was actually in Thailand, nor to buy any motorcycles or picks ups/cars until I was there......hey I wish you luck, I look forward to following your journey.....life is great over here. Andy.

None of my business what you do, you appear to be a very nice person 👍 If i were advising my son i would say take a step back, im same age as you, been single for 25 years, now i have found true happiness in myself and being alone, not lonely. Got absolutely fleeced and lost everything 25 years ago. hope you find happiness whatsoever you do.

It’s far easier to legally marry in Thailand than trying to register an American marriage here. I started the process back in December in order to change my retirement visa to a marriage visa so I could get work permit to work as a musician. Just got my new stamp 2 days ago. A very draconian process especially if you are trying to do it from Thailand!

It’s a long hard emotional rollercoaster ride you’ve chosen to buy a ticket on Steve… I met my now Thai wife 9 years ago when I was living in Thailand, we got married in Bangkok in 2017, we now live in the UK and it’s taken years of frustration and form filling not to mention many many pounds of hard earned graft.. if it’s what you want 100% then my advice is crack on and keep your chin up because believe me there will be times when you think is it worth it.. my wife finally got British citizenship in July and her British passport arrived today …. The road is long but I / we have finally reached the end of the road and there is no more form filling or money to spend on being together …. The journey is long and frustrating but there is an end to it…..good luck with your journey.

Sorry to be negative sir but may I ask you , how old is your Thai wife ? Have you made any financial promises that you are borrowing money to honour ? Sorry sir but in my opinion you will be fleeced , maybe not in one swoop but it will happen slowly but that is your business. I wish you luck in the future I have a KZitem channel and I have my own story about my Ex Thai Wife

Run for the hills, my friend. It's not worth the hassle! If nothing else, try some dates with BKK-based women; preferably those with a middle-class lifestyle/career. Take it from someone who learned the hard way. Oh well... you've still got time. Don't give up on Thailand just yet. However, I think/fear you've been taken for a ride. Then again, what do I know...😅
