I so want this pack but only if it was more structurally firm. Hope they consider a version with firm sides. Considering Peak Design 45 L instead.

I love my Allpa 42. I wouldn’t use it sans packing cubes, though. With packing cubes, it’s not blobby at all.

I love a blobby backpack! LOL I've been in the situation you described where there's already a lot of cargo and my super malleable backpack squeezes in where firmer luggage would not. Compressibility is also a huge benefit if you ever have to put your bag in the little carry-on measuring box. QUESTION: If you traveled on any airlines with maximum carry-on limits of 22x14x9 or LESS, did you have any trouble taking the 42L on the plane? - I like the extra volume and the load lifter straps on the 42L, but am leaning towards the 35L to hopefully slide under most international carry-on limits. Thanks for the video!
