I love your crochet tutorials. The videos are clear, with great close-ups for viewing details. Your verbal instructions are excellent as well. I can finally follow along from beginning to end and fully understand the lesson. Is there anyway you can make a video instruction for a solid granny square? Thank you!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Cynthia! I used some Martha Stewart yarn and there is only 66 yards on there and I made this one and then I have some leftover... not enough for a small washcloth. So I would guess you can easily make 2 from a 94 yard ball. Happy Stitching!

That is really easy once you get used to doing 1/2 double crochets. I thought I would have to take my hook and pull it through the holes to finish it up. I did not know you can use a needle to pull the thread through. It looks so much easier.

U used an 'I' crochet hook, guess you wanted it a bit looser. Looks good. The wrapper on each yarn will have the size recommended for that yarn.
@lepew2567
9 жыл бұрын
On clock of video at 4:13, you put hook thru a single stitch for the border, yet before you did the correct thing, you put thru 2 loops, which holds the border stitch better. At the corners it would be better to do 2 single crochets , ch.1 or 2, then single crochet again 2X's according to the experts. In general you did a goof job, the border did help you hide the imperfections on edges .
@emilyray5179
9 жыл бұрын
How did you finish the border on the final corner? Did you put 4 single crochet and then stop?
@MelanieHam
9 жыл бұрын
+Emily Allan finish the stitch, trip the yarn leaving a 6-8 inch tail and then pull that through the loop on your hook to secure it. Then weave in the ends ;)
@emilyray5179
9 жыл бұрын
+Melanie Ham So then all the corners are rounded except the last one? If I just finish with the final stich it makes more of a square edge rather than round like the rest.
@lepew2567
9 жыл бұрын
+Emily Allan ...you can put on corner 2sc, ch 1 or 2, than 2sc. another thing you can do instead of weaving in the tails, Mikey from 'the crochet crowd does, he pulls the tails in with the crochet hook thru the stitches. Watch his wash cloth video & see what I mean.

I want so much to learn to crochet. I am discouraged as I can't even get my chains to look like yours. Also, My first row doesn't look like yours either. I have tried and tried again. I love all your videos but feel like an epic fail as it seems like I am the only one who doesn't "get it". I am resolved to do this but I need a simpler video than this. I can't seem to get my hook to go in easily. Thanks!!

@luv2readandknit

because you chain 25 but you put your first half double crochet in the third chain from the end-so you have two less stitches

If you're going to teach something on a video think it through, be more specific with your word choices and show more visuals for longer periods of time. Extremely ditzy and loud breathing was annoying for a directions video.
