August and everything after AND recovering the satellites were awesome 90s records. And typically..im a grunge and Punk guy...but damn..those two..well written! Dont give a shit what anyone thinks!

I came across 'August and Everything After' in a pile of CD's 20+ years ago doing radio in Pittsburgh back when CD's got sent all the time for the possibility of air play. Being able to go through the pile was always like a Christmas and Birthday with the hope of finding just one thing that might trade time in the player, a new addition to the favorites The CD was a blank jewel case with just just a disc in a pile easily discarded in thought after this. The discovery floored me, tied me up, made me dance, made me cry and became the backdrop of all my writing at the time. Thanks so much for being back guys. Floored once again with a new soundtrack.

It's not really that. There's very few dislikes compared to likes, so it's not misappreciation, but rather lack of marketing and advertising. If people don't get to hear it - it won't blow up. Great song nonetheless.

I think this song is about being with someone and then leaving too early and feeling upset when you're away because there could've been a possible more in the day, but at the end we learn that if you stay too long it just feels wrong. But the one he loves is now gone...

wow.. this is the very first time ive heard this song. it reminds me of the very first time i heard a song called anna begins. which for some innane reason has always reminded me of visions of johanna. and all that means, i like it. touches a part that can seldom be reached. between the incident on 57th st feel of pallisades park , and this underwhelming emotional bombast (thats a compliment) this may be the best CC album since august.. ( i know the guys in the band like the sophomore effort, but they are wrong.. august smokes it). underwhelmingly awesome.

It reminds me of "Anna Begins" too. Also "A Long December" and "Colorblind". All four (including this one) touch me deeply. I love all their albums but "August and Everything After" is my, "if you were stuck on an island and could only have one album with you," album.

I feel this is like Anna Begins, but with older characters. In "Anna" they are both scared because they don't know how to deal with separation and if they would be able to make it as a couple. Here they are sad but resigned because they know exactly what will happen next and they cannot do anything about it.

a few months after this album came out i had surgery, i got 4 teeth removed and some other stuff done but i dont remember. when i was recovering from this surgery a girl i was friends with basically ganged up on me with her friends and called me names and humiliated me, they called me a pedophile and a creep and all that shit but i was only like 12 and i never understood it but i didnt reply to her messages or anything i just layed there and had this song on repeat. now this girl was like a best friend to me but this song made me realise that she was a bitch and i should move on and forget her (i was kinda attached to this girl for a while so it was hard) but this song also changed my attitude and my perspective on life and basically changed me to the way i am now. i thought id like to share this with everyone.
