My friend died recently after being hit by a car suddenly, I was one of the last to speak to him, to soothe him. He was an incredible and kind soul who learned from his mistakes and did right by the people he loved. He sent me this song a while back and I kind of glazed over it. It was one of 3 songs he ever shared with me. I gave it a good listen after learning he had passed. I have never screamed so loudly, with such pain and anger. You have no idea how much I miss you. I love you Patty Wagon. Thank you for teaching me everything you know. I tried to call you with good news today but I guess your phone is already disconnected. Thank you for the beautiful sunrises and sunsets since you passed. Say hi to my granny for me. 💖

This video is pure gold. Not only is it the best version of round here Adam Duritz ever preformed, but his authenticity and honesty in his voice and music is priceless. It's also the only time Adam explains the meaning of the song and it's hauntingly all too familiar, ingenious lyrics. This video is not only a huge part of rock and roll history, but a poetic rendition of the human experience as a whole and therefore deserves our utmost veneration. Many thanks to the one who uploaded this video. It is cherished by all true music lovers.

How far we've come in such a positive way. Wow, in the 90s mental illness issues were still taboo. Adam even says things along the lines of 'selling all these records, touring, poor schmuck'! Although I suffer myself I used to think hey Adam, you're from California where the sun always shines! But depression doesn't care if it's sunny or pissing down. These lyrics are stuff of legend and learning

I Love this flashback to when music was Great, Extraordinary! Adam is Legend!!!!!! I really like the quality of it because it gives it a "Nostalgic" feel to the whole thing. It was all... Beautiful. What a coincidence, there’s ALSO this girl on a car in the parking lot said, “man you should try to take a shot! Can’t you see my walls are crumbling...!? Translation if needed: I just saw how familiar your phrasing was starting from “There’s this girl at my dance studio...” and of course I, so cleverly, typed out those very lyrics from this song. Makes me kind of wonder if you accidentally typed it that way bc that particular part of the song was playing when you were commenting, hence...SOMETHING subliminal (or just regular ‘liminal’). Or could just be the obvious and most efficient wording that 94% of the worlds population would have also put, but who’s counting amirite...?

he Counting Crows version (by far the more well-known recording) is a slow and mellow, if emotional, folk rock song. The original by the Himalayans is done in a more "pure" rock style-somewhat harder and faster, with prominent electric guitar and bass parts. In a tradition that has manifested in several Counting Crows ... The original is way better.

Hmmmm.......Because, maybe if it wasn't converted to a digital copy soon by the person that owns it, it may have been lost forever to them. And he/ she was kind enough to share it with whoever wants it - even in it's less than perfect condition because (decent' people) are just happy to get a chance to see such rare footage from their favorite bands. It takes an incredibly selfish person to criticize the quality of a classic performance that is offered to you FREE OF CHARGE, to watch or not.
