Absolutely loved this video! I am so sick of everyone thinking we have to decorate in a whitewashed world. Not my style. Your home is warm, welcoming and cozy! My friend and I have a KZitem channel all about stitching ( country stitchers) so, your walls really spoke to me!!! Thank you so much, Deb

Being a cross-stitcher I was VERY interested in your tour. Minimalist...not a word in my decorating style. I love seeing how folks style their homes but minimalism and white are NOT for me either. Candles, family photos and my personal needlework are mixed in every aspect of my home decor. One thing you made me realize today...I'm not alone in my love of collecting things and displaying them around the many rooms of my home. I am so thankful for your willingness to share both your inside and your outdoors with us. Looking forward to more vlogs enlightening and entertaining me!!!:):):)

I have always had a love/hate relationship with decorating magazines and books. They say no artificial foliage, no clutter, how many teapots do you need, and on and on. Dear Jeri you are amazing and your style goes a long ways in showing how you can create the most wonderful home in your own taste. Your collections are so lovely. You inspire me to get some of my treasures out of boxes and display them regardless of "style". Thank you for the most beautiful video!!

the sampler you worked in 1982 is very similar to the one I worked in 1962. That was my first embroidered piece. I was 10 yrs old and received a blue ribbon at our town fair. It hangs on the wall in my log farmhouse. I enjoyed your home tour, thanks for sharing. I don't have collections per se and it is rare for me to appreciate seeing them in homes but yours are fascinating, valuable and well curated. My style is functional farmhouse and though it may look like we collect old vintage items, we actually use these things. The glass milk bottles on the hoosier, the various kitchen items and enamelware, the wood dough bowls, the big old cookie jar, the crocks holding potatoes and onions, all are quite experienced and still well used. I like to think about the women who used these items before they came to me, their stories are connected to mine. I imagine you understand this connection as well.
@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow
4 жыл бұрын
That is so interesting that you could see the age on the Sampler... I was much older than 10 when I stitched it. I use many of my old items, especially kitchen items. More fragile things such a quilts and baskets are for display only. I'm glad you put your wonderful old history items to use. I have a 200 yr old wooden bowl ,passed down in the family. it is a total pleasure to use it.

I have beautiful plates above every window and doorway in my kitchen. Norman Rockwell plate collection’s on my dining room walls a wall pocket over flowing with silk flowers. Living plants in several area’s. Basket’s. I was given a small line of very old style school desks! Oil lamps, I love them all! Old jars, bottles. My goodness such loveliness.

Yes, it is very dark, also contemporary English style is certainly a great deal more minimalistic. An important focus of English or indeed Irish home - style has always been the fireplace, though with more options for heating many homes now have an additional source of heat such as oil fuelled central heating combined with an electric, gas or coal fire or perhaps a wood burning stove.. Thank you for the guided tour. The woven rug and the comfy seats are my favourite aspects. God bless, v

Growing-up around book's, Early American furniture and Mahogany furniture [ my PA Grandmother furnished her apart. with + a Baby Grand piano ]. The love of musuc, on both sides. Plus my two son's and myself. Jeri's pretty tea cup service, here...looks like English Spode [ Spodes Tower, maybe? ]. I think her Hand Felt Pinned Needle Art, is equsite!! Along with her beautiful, Drawing's/Illustration's and Paper Cutting's, etc. 'Sew' multi~talented! Love her decorating and presentation's. Please excuse being, long-winded, here. It's so funny. I love English/French country style and I love to keep it simple. Your home reminds me of how I grew up and I love it. I live a more edited version of yours. I also try buy used, thrifted, found, etc for about 75% of my home. I try to keep it authentic to the style of a time gone by. I don't do the trendy farmhouse/cottage look, with the wall sayings on canvas, new pottery, etc. I prefer to use old cross stitch sayings and my pottery and dishes are all antique mixed. I also live in less than 1000 square feet, so I have to be very edited. Thank you for the inspiration!

I bought 4 quilts exactly alike. For a while I had them on the beds in each room. One side is yellow and the other is pastel green on one side and cream with coral chintz look with tiny rose buds. Now these quilts are on the couch and large barrel chair that are covered in brocade silk from 1970. The furniture is carved and maybe older than the Civil War. No plopping on furniture in my room! I like how you decorate!

The room is very warm and inviting. During chilly months what a delight to settle into a room such as this. I gravitate to light/pastel colors personally. I adore floral, vertical stripes and paisley prints. Throughout the years I have chosen different styles and color choices, I always come back to my pastels. I am so grateful to have found your channel. It brings me joy. Thank you.
