Takht Suleiman, the birthplace of Zoroaster in West Azarbaijan province, is one of the important and historical attractions of Iran, which is also registered in the list of national monuments and UNESCO heritage.
Takht Suleiman is located in a green valley and is one of the famous places in Takab, which is referred to as "City of Ganjak" in Pahlavi writings. This city has seen many residents such as the Median, Achaemenid, Parthian, Sasanian and Mongol tribes and has been at the peak of prosperity and power during all these times. Takht Suleiman dates back to three thousand years ago and its eternal fire for seven centuries shows the greatness and authority of Sassanid government and Zoroastrian religion.

History of Takht Suleiman
The command to build Takht Suleiman and its fire temple was given by Bahram Gur, one of the Sassanid kings; Although other Sassanid kings played an important role in its prosperity and development. This city was destroyed by the attack of the Roman Empire in 624 AD, and after the destruction of the Sassanid government and the acceptance of Islam in Iran, unfortunately, this huge complex never returned to its former form.
During the period of the Mughal patriarchs, Takht Suleiman was used as the summer and summer capital of the kings. The remaining buildings in this complex show that parts were added to Takht Suleiman during this period. After the fall of the Ilkhanate rule, Takht Suleiman was used as a village and a seasonal market, and during the Safavid period, this area became a nomad summer residence. The fate of this huge and extraordinary city was finally determined 250 years ago; When Takht Suleiman was forever deserted and gradually many legends were formed about it.
