Niagra Falls is one of the natural wonders of the world. You can believe in whatever creation theory you want, but if there is a God or Gods, then they made that incredibly beautiful natural vista for us to gaze in awe at. If there is no God, then the fact that a bunch of random coincidences coalesced into this huge waterfall is nothing short of incredible. This guy would complain that he got his new shoes wet while visiting.
@littlemoth4956
Ай бұрын
The problem with that claim is that something that is "beautiful" is no more incredible than anything else. It's beautiful to us, yes, but there are many things we don't favor that were even less likely to have happened that happened anyway.

It actually would be even more incredible and strange if a God had created Niagara Falls, because he had many more options to choose from - infinite, in fact - than how many different ways a universe could have turned out by naturalism. I remember visiting the Grand Canyon as a teen. We took a mule ride down to the bottom, which was great fun. On the bus ride back, all the people of my parents' generation-- yes, boomers-- were complaining about how awful it was. It was hot and dusty, the trail was rough, the mules smelled like animals, etc; I was sitting there wondering what they were expecting on such an excursion, or why they signed up for it. Finally my older sister said simply, "Well, I really enjoyed it." They all shut up instantly. I'm not saying it's always this easy to stop them, but sometimes it can work. This was 30 years ago. That generation has always been like this, full of complaints if the world doesn't cater to their every whim. They actually enjoy complaining more than anything else. It's not because they're old now; it's just part of who they are.

"The mules smelled like animals." 😂 This makes me think of my dad. We lived in the suburbs and he was really annoyed that there were people around, especially little kids who came onto the lawn. Man I have so many Boomer stories. My wife’s boss is the CRO and she’s the deputy CRO. He’ll call her up when he’s having a computer problem because, you know, she’s younger and probably knows more about computers and she’s his subordinate and should help him with whatever. He’ll also call and say that he can’t figure out why his document is messed up after she sent it and for her to fix it even though the document works just fine for everyone else and maybe you need to call IT because it sounds like you have a virus or something. The company has unlimited PTO but he tells her that she’s taking too many days off and its bad for appearances, even though he admits she gets all her work done and more. Then he’ll turn around and block his days off from meetings but basically be gone all day, taking the day off but not marking as a day off.
