Courtney, one reason so many of us love your music is it brings back to us a time when music was genuine, solid. We looked forward to a new song by some talented musicians and were never disappointed when a new one was released. We bought albums to hear every song, not just the ones picked up by radio stations. It's that way with your music. This one flat out kills it. Thanks for bringing some of us full circle in this life. Yeah, I'm 72 and it was this kind of music, your music, that got some of through some trying times. I'm sure old Army Vets like myself have discovered you and are sitting back loving what you do. It's a good time to be alive. Thanks.

Two 63 year olds? That's a sign. 63 is a sacred number: 3 x 3 x 7. The Roman general Pompey invaded and burned the Jerusalem temple in 63 BC, which aligns with the time that the Prophetess Anna did not depart from the same temple (see Luke 2:36-38).

That's why when she does a up beat tone and tempo, they call her a beast on stage, because she is actually in her own little world when she sings on stage. And I believe she should start thinking about tours with a few songs that know one has heard yet. Now that could be a bonified jam session, especially if she had another band there to perform.

I suspect there's an incredible real life story behind this one, Edward, and it's filled with extraordinary pain, longing and unrequited love. Just speculating here, but I think it's likely that Courtney has fallen deeply in love with someone who she can't be with because of circumstances she feels she has no control over. Admittedly, that's just my highly imaginative interpretation of everything. Nevertheless, I share your affection for Courtney and I worry about her. The two lines that haunt me are "I'm never going to lose your number" and "I wonder what my life would be like if I had a choice." This song is just completely devastating. If you're a praying man, Edward, I'll ask you to offer one for Courtney and for whomever she wrote this song.

@@Shir_Hadash I have no clue, but if you listened to her live from last night, she said this song was written over 2 years ago.
@Shir_Hadash
Жыл бұрын
@@edwarddevogelear4432 I took that to mean it was written over the past two years. I think it came together 3 months ago. But, yes, it seems clear that something happened two years ago - around the time she pulled out of that show in Austria - that left a profound and lasting mark on Courtney. This seems to be a connecting link between Breakable, That Girl and now Call Me Back. All three songs have a tragic vibe, like trying to get back to lost love, feeling like everything has changed, she isn't the same person as before and yet refusing to let go. Look Edward, I'm a newer fan. I only really started following her as a fan about 2 years ago. You've been following her far longer that I have. I value your perspective. These are just my thoughts. I suspect you may have insights I don't. Honestly the depth, range and quality of her 3 new songs are like nothing I've ever heard. She's my favorite singer song writer. I think she a true genius.
@darrenbent7601
Жыл бұрын
@@Shir_Hadash Also, it could be about replaying the voice message of a loved one who has passed on, holding on to any sort of connection that they had when they were with us, even if it is just hearing that persons voice as a message, knowing that they will never be able to call back.
@Shir_Hadash
Жыл бұрын
@@darrenbent7601 I don't think so. If it was about a person who died, I think Courtney would tell everyone all about it. Look how she reacted at Tina Turner's passing. Think of how Angelina Jordan's song Million Miles is about her grandfather. Darren, I think you've picked up on a beautiful secondary meaning, but it seems clear to me that Call Me Back is written to/about a romantic lover who is very much alive and yet separated from Courtney by some horrific and unreasonable constellation of circumstances. Young Hadwin child has always been notoriously private and mysterious. Someday, I hope the truth comes out. Based on Breakable, That Girl and Call Me Back. I'm convinced that there's an insanely meaningful and yet _painful_ story taking place behind the scenes. And she hasn't even released Less Is More or The Simplest Way yet, both of which give more indications that the 19 year old is keeping some delicious secrets. I've never heard anything like these songs. They're incredible and yet she doesn't seem very happy. She looks and sounds like someone who's in love with someone she can't have or maybe THINKS she can't have. Anyway, maybe I'm wrong. It's just my two cents. I look forward to hearing your thoughts, Darren. Like Edward, I think you've been Courtney's fan longer than I have. I only discovered her about two or two- and-a-half years ago.

Thank you for the lyrics. I'm almost embarrashed to say I had a hard time understanding the words prior. For some reason that's always been a problem. Not on you or any other artist, just a me thing. But now that I know the message I realize even more all the passion you put into this song. There's so many ways to imagine the story behind this song, but all of them I come up with are very emotional. For me, I relate it to a very talented friend I used to record songs with who past away. I couldn't get in touch with him at the end and left many a message for him to please call me back. He was in a bad way.

I've heard it said that for listening to a singer, the vowels carry the feeling, but the consonants carry the meaning, the lyrics, the story. Several people I've introduced to Courtney's music have complained that they don't hear so well anymore (I and my cohort are in late 60s through early 80s) so they miss the story...best to include the lyrics in CC for them, and maybe hit those consonants a little harder. Then again, I sing like a dying frog, so what do I know. What I DO know is that Baby Boomers especially love your music as you bring us back to the roots of the music we grew up with, the singers who inspired the bands we loved. Rock on!
