@@edwarddevogelear4432 I agree with you. I have seen all of her full length, or near full length performances. I love that 'Beautiful Me' rap that she did, she personalised it, in her own voice. I did not say that she couldn't rap, it was just that particular performance that was a bit shaky for me. And there was another audition (which looked like it was in an attic) where she was really nervous while singing, you could tell. And there was a performance when she was 9 of 'The Climb' in her bedroom, wrapped up in her duvet where she was again quite nervous. But I am not faulting her for those, it shows that she is human, like the rest of us.

Not sure if people know how significant your reply is. So many great great artists we've all heard in the past, and almost always, no matter how great they are we get bored or eventually move on to another artist after listening to them over and over again. I am with you, Elvis and now Courtney have been the only 2 that I can think of that every time I listen to them, I just never get tired of their talent. In fact I seem to be more in awe of them the more I listen to them. I should add Micheal Jackson too. He impresses me also.

@@darrenbent7601 We all have those favorites. I brag about lots of artists from the past to others from today who realize how fun and how rock music is especially from artist of the past, but I only have a few of them that I can put a song, especially a video performance on repeat for hours on end without getting bored. There are a few songs from other artist that also do it for me without getting bored, but only a few artist who have that many songs that I can listen to over and over. There's probably a few others I can't think of now too. Bowie and Celine along with many others probably fit that bill for man others too. Just not on my list. I"m sure many people feel the same about Queen or the Beatles also, but they weren't on my radar growing up. I had many friends who loved those guys, but not my favorites as a kid. I never bought Elvis's or MJ's music, but I just was amazed at their talent whenever I watch them throughout their whole career. I have lots of respect for all of them at that level. I mention MJ and Elvis because very few people don't think of them as icons. Even the Beatles have people who just weren't huge fans growing up, myself included. Although I knew how great they were, but there songs didn't always resonate with me. I don't know why, as I'm a musician myself and appreciate great song writers and talent. I mention Elvis and MJ, not because all their songs are on top of my list, but because when I see their performances it just don't get old. When watch them perform, I'm in awe. It's personal I guess, but those are 2 great artists to bring into the mix.

Thanks Jennifer for this great reaction. This is the second most viewed of the Cover Sessions but my personal favorite. I have followed Courtney closely since she was on AGT. I really loved all her rock songs she has performed and thought I would miss her rock persona when she sang a ballad or pop song. However I was wrong. This song showcases Courtney’s vocals best and it is so impressive: the nuances of her voice, the falsetto, the emotion. IMO nobody does it better than Courtney. Thanks again!

In my 79 years I have heard many great singers going right back to the first Elvis record I bought in 1956 and all the great singers who followed on after him but to me Courtney is the very best of them all. Her incredibly powerful unique voice sets her apart from all the rest, she is in a class of her own way out in front.

Your comment to me is huge to say the least. When someone who's experience Elvis 1st hand and all the rest of the greats to follow say's Courtney is on their level and more, is well, the greatest compliment any artist can receive from someone who has experience Elvis growing up. I go back far but not far enough to have heard Elvis when he 1st became known. I've seen many other legends from Zep, Clapton and so on, but I've always been in awe of Elvis, especially his younger years when he rocked out. A pure entertainer. Which is probably why Courtney gets compared to some of the greats like MJ and Elvis. Great comment.
@rickrhoden1

@@bertpainter8385 I got to see Elvis live, too, and he was/is the greatest performer/entertainer ever, IMO. Elton John was declared (by who?) the greatest entertainer of the 20th Century, but that's only because Elvis had been dead more than 20 years. I agree that Courtney's talent and potential are at that level, but it's a little early to put her above or even at that level yet; there's a little matter of body of work, popular response and groundbreaking history, along with also a unique voice, for Courtney to deal with first--I'm pulling for her!

@@rickrhoden1 I actually disagree with the reasoning of your conclusion Rick. Talent isn't about the size of your body of work or your accomplishments. Someone who has been in music 40 years and has sold 100M records could have less talent than a young new singer just getting ready to release their first album. I know what a big Elvis fan you are and that's cool if you think he's the greatest ever. I just think talent should be compared to talent as the sole factor used in arriving at that conclusion

@@rickrhoden1 I understand you point Rick. I think I agree with Ed on the Body of work part. People were looking at Elvis and the Beatles as the greatest thing in the world within a year when they 1st came out. It can happen without a huge body of work. I think in this comment what I was saying is that TheMonarchgroup's comment is a big deal and although I didn't say this is the best flattery anyone can give comparing her to Elvis. Actually I think I did say that. She does give off that Aura to many people for sure. She's got that entertainment value on stage that very few have like an Elvis and MJ. But I guess that can go for other artists too if you're that into them. I've only felt that way about both Elvis and MJ when they perform on stage pretty much every time they do. And I don't really listen their music much. MJ had a few songs, that if done by another artist that I probably would like. And Elvis's early rocker years is what I liked most song choice wise. But both of them could sing anything and I was impressed to the max regardless of what they sang. Courtney does that mostly for me too so far. Theirs some songs she sings I'm not into but when she uses her talents and her rocky vocal edge I am drawn to her style, very much like Elvis later in life. I know people won't see it the way I do, but that's why music is music. It makes you feel. Fortunately they're enough artists to choose from.

Hi Jennifer. A truly gorgeous rendition by Courtney. At the time Courtney recorded this song, about a year after AGT, so many only knew her from her AGT performances and thought of her as solely a fabulous stage dominating rocker, but then she hit them with this song and completely blew their minds when they realized that Courtney had one of the most beautiful and versatile voices in all of music. This was one of a four song EP that Courtney released with the specific purpose of highlighting her vocal versatility as well as her creativity. She took recent massive hit songs across different genres and re-invented them as her own. None of Courtney's versions of the four songs sounds anything like the original and virtually anyone that has heard Courtney's versions think she blew the originals right out of the water. You've reacted to all four now (Old Town Road was on your last live but you haven't released it yet). IMO, Courtney has set a new standard as to how we define greatness in music and, at the moment, I don't think there is anyone else even close to what she can do with a song. This song was recommended by Bert and maybe a few others. It's 'Love Hurts' and what Courtney did with this song defies belief. Many think this is one of her most spectacular pieces of music. She's playing her studio recording of it off of her laptop, so she's not singing it live, but it is a must hear. Courtney Hadwin - Love Hurts: kzitem.info/news/bejne/w6eQ0HiIkaupgqQ

@@lorettapierce8430 If you like Courtney's rock and bluesy side then Love Hurts is about as good as it gets. People like to say she's like Janis Joplin, which I don't think so except for when she wants to be. And for this song she got that Janis vibe working. For me, her ability to have so many faces of how she wants to sing is what makes her so special. She's so talented that way. Not many singers can switch it up like that.
