Kind of ominous that during the opening credits a shooting gun faces the camera with Jon-Eric Hexum's name on the screen.... Also in the episode he fools around with the camera and it takes a shot! Eerie!

Looking into the barrel was a pretty common cinematic trope at the time. Every James Bond movie starts with us looking down the barrel of the gun toward Bond, and Remington Steele's intro had a gun turning toward the audience as well, IIRC.

This weeks episode a ditsy woman a real wet blanket and her kids need saving, a familiar recycled plot in Glen A Larson productions. Also how to take down a heavy with a stiletto shoe!

Yes, the 1980s and most of the 20th century were rife with misogynistic, lazy writer's tropes of women. Look how Sigourney Weaver changed from a smart, accomplished, sassy single lady in Ghostbusters into a hysterical mom chasing a pram, screaming "My BAAAABY! My BAAAABY!!!" in Ghostbusters II. Basically a cartoon. You've got the irritating, overly-thin, screaming ditz like in The Shining or Rosemary's Baby, the sexually pushy, desperate fat lady like in Misery, psychopathic, lesbian old hags like Rosa Klebbs, machiavellian dominatrices like Xenia Onatopp or any evil Disney queen, of course your run-of-the-mill gold-digger/whore trope and their opposite, the empty vessel, virgin bride teen-in-a-bikini, with no mind or needs of her own. Unfortunately, the only way to move away from that writing is for the writers to die off, and that takes a generation. Then, you have the new blood's shortcomings to deal with. I think things will get better the more women writers get clout, but even then, you have Nora Ephron writing rom-coms, feeding into lonely women's corrosive psychological fantasies of love. Sometimes I think the world would be a better place if men were forced to read romance books and women were banned from it.

I understand loving cheesy movies or shows from your own era. Ill watch "Roadhouse", anytime its on TV. That being said, this show was so cheesy it gives me douche chills watching it lol. Some pretty awful acting in it as well. Not trying to be rude, but its just, well, hilarious.
