great video, also enlightening insight on the variation of a heelhook instead of toestep!

for stretching (on non climbing days), how long do you normally hold each position?

We don’t really time, but would say around 15 seconds! We make sure we breathe to help muscle contraction and relaxation. Thanks for watching :)

Good stuff - thanks for the video. I am 166cm and unfortunately struggle hard with my flexibility especially in the hip / pelvis region - working on it doing ‚Asian Squats‘ (which i still can’t do unsupported). Will try to stay consistent with working on it

Ai Mori beating Janja Garnbret is a MUST see to understand that height don't make it all. I am tall myself, but my wife is quite short, so each one of us has his own strength and weakness. Sometimes we have to climb in a different style to make it work for sure, but the most important is that we top it !

I'm around 5'2 last time I checked, and I wonder if i can replace the flexibility with anything like strength, because I injured my leg a bit over half a year ago and it stopped getting better a few months ago and hurts if I pull my left leg up or if I move my right leg too far from my left.

Thanks for watching! You can definitely work on other aspects like strength, power, and technique to advance your climbing. Flexibility is only one of many things that help your climbing. That said, if possible, it’s good seek professional help to address your injury!
