Could you gradually move your water lane inward, say every couple days? I realize it would narrow your cells by giving cattle access to a thin strip of grass along the path, but you could make each paddock that much smaller to account for it.

Short answer? Yes. The problem is that it would create a bunch of small problems rather than one big one. Pick your poison I guess

Corriente have a larger flight zone, in general. Partly due to disposition, but also due to their horns. That is the experiment at our ranch this year. Corriente with no horns. It's an experiment in progress.

"We want them (cows' rumens) empty in the morning..." Why? What does letting cows go hungry (even for a little while) do for you?

We want to create competition between the animals to get them to graze less selectively. As they get fuller, they get pickier. We are shooting for a very high utilization rate in each paddock. We don’t want them passing up weeds.

How big are your “cells”? How many heads? How many moves a day? What time? Thank you sir.

That’s a loaded question. I’ll give a broad answer and explain in a video soon. Our cells are the size it takes to feed the mob with 85% utilization rate; therefore, it varies based off of biomass/acre and where the cows are in the reproductive cycle

Hey Ben, a couple questions. 1. What are the dimensions of the pvc pipe you use for your Uruguayan gate? 2. Do you ever have problems with animals knocking them over without sliding the pipe into a post?

Id say dont even be discouraged if you cant be there daily. I started 1.5 hours from my cows. Just move them weekly or whatever.
